Destination Leisure – Cottage A, 2BR Next to Mitchell State Park Campground

We were so lucky to find this little gem at the last minute. The house is all new construction inside and out, tastefully decorated and fully furnished with extra towels and wash cloths, coffee and fully stocked kitchen. The place was clean, beds were comfortable and we felt safe. Easy communication with property manager. Be sure and check out Clam Lake Beer Company downtown and Mr Foissie, next door, for the best pasty in town. Great location; within walking distance from both lakes, gas stations, restaurants and a great produce and plant store across the street. We ❤️ Cadillac and our stay here made it super enjoyable.

Loved the location. It was close to the lakes and bike trail. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. The owners were very quick to respond. Thank you for a great stay!

Awesome stay here! Right in the middle of everything. Short walk to the beach, coffee or ice cream shop. Boat launch is across the street, cut through the canal, zoom across lake Cadillac and hit downtown Cadillac. Had a great time staying here, would highly recommend.

Love this place! This is our second stay. It’s the perfect size for a couple or small family. We had friends at the campground next door and were able to visit easily. Love that Mr Foise’s Pasties is next door! Can’t wait until the next time we can come.

Kitchen had everything we needed

Stayed here last fall and was a little worried it may be worn out by this summer, but it was in tip-top shape. Thanks for another great stay.

Property was great and very clean compared to other houses we have stayed in. I wish there was a couple more blinds on the I does that didn’t have any and a fire pit. Other than that it was perfect!!!!

Our group rented both cabin A and cabin B for the weekend. We rented these as a bridesmaid/groomsman room for our wedding over the weekend. The host was very welcoming and had helpful details printed out and available inside the cabin. The location is amazing, right next to the state park, local restaurants, and across from the beach. We were able to enjoy the pasty shop next door was a great addition to our stay.

This property is great! Location for us was great: very close to the beach and family activities. Everything is well thought out and put together perfectly. Would definitely stay here again!

This house was a lovely rental, easy to find and access. We initially planned to bring out kids, but it ended up being just myself and my husband. Had the kids come along, it still would have been perfect. The sleeping arrangements are superior to other rentals in the same price range and the house really did feel like home. It was nice to be close to many things, and the pastie shop next door is a must visit!

I would recommend this property for anybody that wants to get away. Once the word get gets out about this little cabin it will be filling up fast a hostesses was nice The owner was nice everybody was really nice that we dealt with concerning this property again I would recommend it to anybody

We came up with friends to snowboard at Caberfae. This place has a convenient location only about 15-20 minutes away from Caberfae, and even closer to downtown Cadillac. Everything was very clean and comfortable for our stay. I would stay again.

Great stay

My son and I decided last minute to head north for a quick weekend trip for some skiing. I found Up North Getaway and was very pleased. Cabin was small but perfect for what I was looking for. Only 15-20 mins to the slopes and close to lots of places to eat. We ended up at the bowling alley very close by for a couple of games and pizza after a day outside. I will also mention the heated floors were awesome to wake up to. The entire cabin has them. Only reason I have 4 stars for location is because the front door opens to the Burger King parking lot. Not a huge deal while you’re in the house.

My friends and I planned a ski trip to the area with this house as the lodging, and we loved it. Plenty of space for everyone and a relaxing home to return to at the end of the day. Very clean and well maintained, had everything we needed. Plus the beds were really comfortable. We'll be back for sure!!

This is our second year staying here. Wonderful house to rent.

This is a very nice place. Very clean, very comfortable, and the free pasties was an unexpected and delightful surprise. Conveniently located near the state park, we were able to take short walks along the shoreline of two lakes. The only drawback to the location is the proximity to M-115 with the loud traffic noise. The property manager was helpful, although basically unneeded as the only issue that we had was due to our impatience with the fireplace. Everything worked great, the bed was very comfortable and the kitchen had all the necessary utensils. The TV has a large number of available channels.

I have stayed here multiple times and look forward to visiting again soon! Its location and quality make staying here a no brainer.

Great place clean and comfortable

We stayed for a quick weekend that wasn’t too far from home. Explored all over during the days and evenings, but would have been totally content to just tuck up inside and read with the fire going!! It was cold and rainy outside, but inside with the radiant floor heat…so awesome! We were comfortable in every way…furniture, location, cleanliness, amenities available, the pasty shop….excellent!

Perfect location. We were visiting friends and family staying at the state park. The entrance is basically right outside the door. We rode our bikes right in. The place was clean and organized. Back slider is a little difficult to lock. We would absolutely stay again.

Great location for our group, cottage has everything we needed, and cleanliness was excellent!

Perfect size, clean, ample dinner ware, towels.

The house was great. Size was perfect for the 5 of us. Lots of little extras. Having laundry was awesome. The walk-in entrance to the State Park was right outside our front door. The kids loved that. It seems kind of funny Burger King is in the front yard, but the kids loved it. They could walk over and get food when they wanted to. We were there for baseball, so all the other families stayed at a place within walking distance of us. We got rained out one day, and there was plenty to do at the house. Would absolutely stay there again.

The house was very nice, everything we could've needed was provided. Good location, quiet. My only disclaimer is there is another house being built on the property right now. We had workers walking around the yard 3 of 4 mornings when enjoying coffee on the patio and last morning involved a 7am concrete pour. Once construction is done, I'm sure things will be more peaceful but this was definitely an issue I wish I had known about. Since it's temporary, I still gave 5 stars but wasn't thrilled about this part or the communication on this. That said, the rest of our stay was very nice. Post-construction, this house will be 5 stars for sure!
