Falmouth, Massachusetts
Cute! Little 2 bedroom cottage sits directly behind Frederick William house and on shining sea bike way, close to beach, pond, shops, and across the street from a great local restaurant. Martha's Vineyard is easily accessible, walking distance from the steamship authority. Never pay to park to visit the islands. Perfect location!
This adorable little cottage is nestled right behind the Main House on this lovely estate giving you maximum privacy!! Falmouth's Historic Village Green is just minutes away, as well as Highfiled Hall and Katherine Lee Bates birth home (author of America the Beautiful). Whale watch tours, dinner cruises, and fishing charters can be had right from our very own Falmouth Harbor. And if you love antiques, be sure to take in some of the local antique shops and summer events.
Festivals and different special town attractions are scheduled throughout the year, so if you are looking for a specific experience or even, just call to find out more. There is always something fun happening in Falmouth. Come see our Strawberry festival, or our Scallop festival, or take in the fall colors, or visit us during the winter holidays. There is really something for everyone all year round.

The stay truly felt like home away from home. The service was impeccable and greatly appreciated.
The cozy cottage at the Frederick William House is just lovely! Lots of special touches like robes and special soaps. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to stay here again some day.
We had a lovely week here. The cottage was very comfortable and clean, with all amenities. Jeanette was lovely and available to answer any queries very quickly. The cottage is ideally situated. A short walk or bike ride to Falmouth and within walking distance of the buses that run to the ferries. If I ever return to Cape Cod I would definitely stay here again. I would HIGHLY recommend the cottage.
We absolutely loved staying here. The decor was beautiful, and the house just lovely! We stayed with a group of 6 adults. There are two bedrooms with queen beds, and then a cot and pull-out sofa in the living room. We loved using the rental bikes and the path is right behind the property!
We stayed at the cottage for two nights in July. Prices were similar to that in the Cape area at peak season. The house was easy to get to, and we always found a spot to park in the lot. On arrival the cottage was ready - everything in order, and nicely cooled down (the A/c units are in the bedrooms so Jeannette had opened all of the rooms and circulated the air well). The inside and outside are charming and well taken care of. We had 5 adults, so we needed more than the 2 queen beds, and there were different options available - rollaway bed, foldout couch, and a cushiony floor bed. So sleeping arrangements were not a problem, and the bathroom was large and equipped for more than 5 adults with towels, beach towels, etc. The kitchen looked like it was also well-equipped, although we did not do much cooking there. The back patio was lovely too, and we made a fire pit one evening and had breakfast out there - very nice! I would suggest for future improvement to add lighting on the steps up to the patio or on the patio itself - once we extinguished the fire, it was pretty dark. The younger adults used the bikes multiple times to ride on the trail, which is right there and very scenic. There were always a bunch available to use. However, we don't bike that much - leading to my last point: The location was not far from downtown, but there wasn't a ton in walking distance. We went to the two restaurants within walking distance - Crabapples for breakfast (very good) and Seafood Sam's for dinner (delicious). There's also a park across the street with a jungle gym for kids and a lake/smaller beach area. Since our stay was short and we had a few young-at-heart-but-not-the-knees people in our group, we chose to drive more places: It took us 5 minutes or so to drive downtown and a bit more to the grocery store, 8 min to the Island Queen ferry, and 10 min drive to the beaches/Nobska lighthouse. The other ferry (Steamship Authority) we could have ridden to a parking lot and gotten on a shuttle to the ferry which is more convenient, but would have taken some time. Everything would have been bike-able, but you aren't right on the downtown strip either and I'd plan for some time to bike to places. We weren't upset by that, though. :) We liked that it was quieter than something downtown would have been. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and appreciated the nice touches of the property and proprietor - beach passes, information, etc. Thank you, Jeannette!
The property is well kept with plenty of space for 4 people. The bike rentals with the cottage is a great touch since it's easy to bike most anywhere you may be thinking to go in Falmouth. Even with other guests the property is quiet and with the patio you can enjoy a nice dinner and fire in the evenings. Jeanette was always available to answer questions or give recommendations on where to go.
Great overall experience from the moment I booked! Jeanette was very attentive with an email confirmation and then I received a follow up phone call within a few minutes. She truly provided a personal touch and was so helpful with making recommendations for dining, etc. The cottage is lovely, clean, comfortable and centrally located. Pictures on website are accurate. It was great to have a washer and dryer and I really felt like it was a home away from home. Take advantage of the complimentary bikes and enjoy a beautiful ride along the Shining Bike Path which is literally in your backyard. Jeanette had offered the Beach passes but our family of 4 ventured to Martha's Vineyard for the day. Although you can take the bikes (approximately 5 miles to Woods Hole and even take them to the Island), we opted to pay $15 for parking and take the shuttle. We only stayed for 2 nights - wish it had been longer. Would definitely stay here again!
Jeanette was amazing and was very kind to us on our wedding weekend. The cottage was lovely and clean, and pet friendly! We loved staying here for our wedding and look forward to coming back for years to come. Pleasure staying here- would tell any of our friends and family to come here!
Jeanette was very helpful and accommodated our early arrival so that we could have time to get ready for a wedding that afternoon. The cottage is adorable and we were very comfortable there for the night.
We decided to have our family of 5 summer vacation in Boston and Cape Cod this year and we were not let down at all! After reviewing several rentals we chose this property and we are so glad we did! The way it is described and from the pictures shown - you get exactly what you see and more! This cottage was perfect for the 5 of us and in the perfect location. The cottage had everything you would need and the space, coziness and ambiance both inside and out is what i would expect a Cape Cod rental to be. It has a great playground across the street and literally behind the backyard is access to the Shining Sea Bikeway which we took advantage of with the free bike rentals. It was less than a 10 minute drive to the beach (several to chose from) and also to Main Street, which had plenty of cute boutiques and ice cream shops. Jeanette the owner is very professional and called as soon as i booked (4 months before), asking if i had any questions, answered emails (2 weeks before) and then she was there when we checked in and showed us around and made us feel at home. We will definitely be back!
The cottage was perfect! Plenty of room for 4 of us, walking distance from restaurants, the bike path takes you straight into town and the beach, and the gift shop on site has anything you need! Jeanette was lovely, she has thought of everything! We made a fire in the fire pit and made s'mores. This was a dreamy stop on our vacation and we hated to leave!
This was our family's first visit to Cape Cod, and we loved it! The cottage was very comfortable and accommodating. We loved that the cottage sits directly on the bike trail. We took bikes everywhere! The location of the cottage is perfect! We rode bikes to the lighthouse, the village, the beach and the ferry. The bedding is very comfortable, and the cottage provided plenty of space for our family of five. We would definitely stay again!
