A stay in Grand Bend has become a family tradition. We normally stay at colonial hotel, but decided to rent a cozy cottage with a private beach. The home was clean however it had a strong musky smell that took a moment to get used to. The owners live on site. Not easy to get a hold of. There was no warm welcome. From the moment we spoke it was a discussion of one rule after another. We did not feel at ease, and always worried we were going to do something wrong. The air conditioning was turned off at night. We were extremely hot. No access to thermostat so we were unable to adjust the temp. I called after the first evening and spoke with the wife who was going to pass the message along. We had to open the windows in the evening as the air was never turned back on. There is a private access to the beach, but there is no where to sit, it’s rocky. There is a stairwell that allows you walk straight into the lake. You will have to drive to main beaches. Overall we had a great time as a family. We did not feel at ease. The property owners are meticulous which I appreciate very much, however their emphasis on not leaving lights on, making sure there is not much garbage, no sand in the washer.. we are very respectful, we aren’t abusive of others property. But we are on holidays on the beach, sand is unavoidable and garbage is inevitable. Late evenings around the fire with laughs is bound to happen Overall it would have been a comfortable stay if we felt welcomed.

This place is perfect for a summer vacation, located near the beach & in the forest. Very quiet & convenient. We enjoyed a bonfire in the darkness & sauna in a cool evening.

Our family enjoyed our stay. It had everything we needed and it was in an excellent location. Hosts were helpful and very responsive with questions. Having a young family - the washer/dryer saved us a few times. I was able to make all the tools in the kitchen work for all of our meals. Overall, our stay was relaxing and what we were looking for. The highlight was being surrounded by the trees and so close to the beach. We stay at a different rental every year in Southcott Pines and this is the closet we have been to the beach!

My husband and two boys stayed at this property for a week and it was a wonderful experience. As Americans we typically go south for family vacations, but this year we wanted to try something new. We are so glad we did - the location was very convenient - we rode our bikes everywhere! The beaches and lake adjacent to the neighborhood were beautiful and not terribly crowded. The property itself was very clean and exactly as advertised. Sandy, the host, was wonderful as well. He welcomed us as we arrived and we saw him a few times during the week too; he was always very friendly and kind. Would definately recommend and have told all of our family and friends about our Canadian experience.

Sandy and his wife were the perfect hosts. They gave us privacy but where always available if we needed anything. The accommodation was lovely. The beds where very comfortable with lots of pillows. The living area was small but comfortable. The kitchen was set up to make family meals, which we did often. I would suggest a baking sheet or baking pan be added to the kitchen. We found we needed something so we could cook in the oven. Having the private beach was a special treat. We were able to enjoy the beach on the weekend without having to endure the crowds at the public beaches. Thank you for a wonderful stay

Our family spent Canada Day weekend at this fantastic Grand Bend spot. The basement apartment felt anything but, and the location was perfect. As this is a private community we were able to use their quiet private beaches and enjoy the stunning neighbourhood. A very short drive to Main Street and all its excitement. Our thanks to Sandy for his excellent service.

We booked this apartment suite in the spring, knowing Grand Bend wouldn’t be quite as spectacular as it is in the summer. Nonetheless, we were able to find good trails nearby for a few good walks, and the beach is less that a 2 minute walk away. Everyone in the neighbourhood was extremely friendly as well. The Suite was very clean, with everything we needed and more to occupy us through the rainy days. Sandy was also quick to help with any questions we had. Thank you so much! We will definitely be back!
