Explore this 1.68 acre serene getaway, complete with a babbling brook, a bridge, a meadow perfect for lawn games, a bamboo grove, fire pit and extended deck with luxury hot tub. Winter views of Capps Lake offer a picturesque scene from the deck. The lake is obscured by shrubs and trees during warmer months, but the frog song and critter's chorus' are abundant! Create memories in the gourmet kitchen, and sleep soundly in the super-comfy beds. We can accommodate 8 guests, but advertise for 6. Although the lake is bordering our property, we do not own the lake, or have access to it. We do have Lake Julian just down the road which we use with our boat.
We booked this property due to its location mid-way between Hendersonville and Ashville. The bonus was how close it was to the Ashville Airport! The house is a little difficult to get to given it's quite tucked away, but that's part of the charm - the privacy. Every aspect of the house was perfectly put together and the outdoor hot tub was a huge bonus. There were directions available for how to use everything, which was useful and eased the pain of being in an unfamiliar place. The communication with the property owners was great and made the check-in and check-out processes very easy. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this location for a getaway when you want to be near everything, but not necessarily in the middle of the hustle and bustle.
We came with our 4 kids ages 8-16 to enjoy Asheville. The place was perfect. Our kids loved exploring the property and the hot tub was a big hit. Every detail was thought out and provided for in this rental. Would definitely go back again.
Initially we were disappointed on entering Capps Lake Retreat. I think it was because the rooms, especially the living room were very dark, all day. Beds great, hot tub lovely, modern well equipped kitchen, quick response from manager. The surrounding area was pleasant but not conducive to exploration and the tiny house next door was a few feet away. All in all not quite what we hoped for, but certainly pleasant.
My husband and I stayed for 2 weeks and had a terrific experience. We really loved the sounds of nature surrounding us. Marc was very responsive if we needed anything.
The home was absolutely lovely and squeaky clean . Perfect for a quiet and private getaway. We both definitely enjoyed the property. We would definitely recommend it for whole families.
This cute, quirky little house at the end of the road suited our needs, good beds, nice kitchen, great back deck with birds singing in the day and fireflies in the evening. And close to the main road into Asheville for all our adventures. Marc was informative and always available when we needed him.
Great rooms in house only item that we had to get use to and remember are the one and two steps to living area, kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms. No accidents but was something to be aware of especially at night. It won’t deter us in renting again but could be for older renters.
Property felt very secluded but was also not far from restaurants, antique malls, etc… House was very cozy and the amenities offered were a plus. Asheville was only a short drive away and was a perfect day trip.
Although it was dark, the house was cozy and cute. It really felt like a home. I would like to come and stay in the spring time, to see what it's like in the warmer months.
We had a wonderful time here. Host had it well stocked and clean for us.
Terrific property. Great amenities. Didn’t get to use the fire pit, but the grill was great. Marc is a great host, very responsive. Overall very nice, quiet spot.
Fantastic property. This is a great location: while you are tucked far enough off the main roads to be quiet and feel immersed and nature, a short drive will take you to clean and charming downtown Asheville, the Biltmore Estate, Blue Ridge Parkway, and whitewater rafting outposts. With a bit more adventure, you can find 250 waterfalls in the area like Looking Glass Falls and Triple Falls (former filming location for the Hunger Games and Last of the Mohicans), incredible mountain vistas like Fryingpan Mountain, and it's a beautiful drive to Maggie Valley, the Cherokee reservation, and Cataloochee and other ski resorts. Asheville has the most beautiful autumn foliage of anywhere I've been (even over Gatlinburg). At the property, we had a lot of fun soaking in the hot tub on the back porch and enjoy the natural environment surrounded by trees. We saw a family of rabbits, woodchuck, and birds were everywhere. Lovely fire pit with Adirondack chairs and picnic table. The most well-stocked property we have stayed at, with an abundance of toiletries, kitchenware, basic kitchen spices, coffee, snacks, disposable plates and plasticware. Large grocery store and gas were within a very short drive. The house was scrubbed very clean and well organized. Board games, books, exercise equipment, and even musical instruments made us feel more like family than strangers. The mattress in the master bedroom was extremely comfortable. Homeowner has invested in very nice light-blocking blinds in both bedrooms. Ceiling fans and individual A/C controllers in each room kept us very comfortable. I had a question to locate an item in the house and the homeowner was very responsive and quickly brought extra provisions, making himself available the whole week if we had any needs. I would definitely stay again at this property!
