Newly Remodeled Cottage 2.5 miles from the Center of Highlands on Dillard Road. Open Floor Plan Living and Kitchen with all Appliances & Granite Counters, Vaulted Ceilings. Wrap around Deck with Grill
The cabin and grounds were nice. Enjoyed our stay. Fairly close to downtown Highlands and recreation. Nice deck in back and chairs and camp fire spot in yard. Nothing but trees on both sides in back and across road. Cabin is small, but there are two separate small bedrooms and den/kitchen area. Nice to have washer and dryer, dishwasher and stove. Electric fireplace was nice. No coffee so bring your own. Biggest negative is that the front door is about 25 feet from a fairly busy two lane Dillard road so you will hear the traffic. I got a little used to it after the first day.
This property was renovated, clean and well stocked along with all updated appliances. The manager was informative and very responsive to our questions. There is a lovely large deck across the back with comfortable furniture. Our only negative comment is that the property is very small. It is doable for a couple but think it might be too tight for more than two—good property otherwise.
The property was overall a nice place. It does have a couple of drawbacks however. As stated in the description, it is very close to the road. It makes getting out of the driveway onto the main highway a little risky, because it sits on a curve in the road. The description also stated that there was a backyard , but it really does need mowed.. The other issue in the house is the water pressure in the house is extremely low. It may taking a shower at times difficult because the water pressure would become so low that you really couldn't get a stream hard enough to get the soap out of your hair. Also, when doing laundry, there was actually no water coming out of any of the other faucets while the washer was on. Other than those two things the place really was very nice.
This was the perfect place for us to stay to enjoy our anniversary weekend in Highlands. It is the sweetest little cottage and the bed was super comfy! Would love to come back in the fall!
The cottage is exactly like the pictures online. Very close to town and all the hiking trails and waterfalls. It is a beautiful area. We will be back!
Great home, great location, great trails nearby. Recommend this for anybody looking for a couple days in the mountains!
I met my college roommate for a few days of hiking and fly fishing. This cottage was perfect for us. Just a couple miles outside of downtown Highlands. We were looking for a place mainly to hang out and sleep at night. Back deck is great and fire pit is awesome. So much hiking and waterfalls near by and I caught my first Trophy rainbow trout. Highly recommend.
We love the Highlands and this property is conveniently located to all it has to offer. However, I needed to complete some work while we were away and booked a place with internet listed as an amenity as it was a necessity. We arrived to no internet. The welcome note received on arrival said it was out, 4 companies had come and tried but couldn’t install successfully. Although the business just across the street had it, so it’s possible! I’d say because the owners are aware and until resolved, the property should not be sold as having it available. The television didn’t work without internet. I reached out to the manager before I found the note about internet in the quite long letter but never heard back. There were a few issues with cleanliness, just 2 trash bags and those were pretty well hidden. No area or property info onsite. But, we enjoyed our time.
