Bastrop, Texas
The cozy and magical Yerba cottage sits nestled on the historic grounds of the Yerba at Bastrop property, where the main house is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The cottage itself is an historic structure that offers a combined and cozy living/sleeping area with one comfortable double and one comfortable single bed. The separate kitchen opens to the backyard and chicken coop and boasts a full-size oven and refrigerator as well as the needed kitchen and cookware to make your visit comfortable and easy. The bathroom, while also cozy, has a rejuvenating deep climb- in bathtub/combo. Sit on the front porch or back steps to feel the breeze, enjoy your coffee and watch the birds.
Peaceful and secluded, the Yerba Cottage is only a 5-7 minute walk away from the town center where a vivacious scene of antique stores, live music, restaurants, and a vinery awaits you —as do the walking trails, fishing, and other water sports of the splendid Colorado River. This small cottage was perfect for my stay in Bastrop. As a single traveler, I felt perfectly safe staying here by myself. It was historic and quaint but very well maintained and clean. I am in Bastrop monthly and will return here.
This property is very cozy, conveniently located and clean!
Has everything you need - including chickens out back with eggs if you so desire. Close enough to walk downtown for dining / nightlife.
Light switches were wacky and shower had one tempature extremely scalding.
This place is quiet and close to town.
Was overall a nice place to stay. It is retro-furnished but nice. Clean… the only real issue was that the cottage is cooled by one small window air conditioner unit. And there were no extra fans in the unit. The one ceiling fan only ran on slow speed. We went and bought a floor fan and that helped. So if the owner/manager put one or two fans in the cottage to circulate the air throughout, that would help greatly. The cottage is in a historic area, we loved that. The size was perfect for two people or maybe a couple and one child. We would recommend. Just be aware to bring a fan.
We love the location. Walking distance to downtown and the river. The beds are not great, but the location *mostly* makes up for that.
Overall great, but shower tub combo is a hazard AND drains very slow
My husband and I used to rent a cabin right next door to Neighbor’s before they were there. The Yerba cabin is a perfect substitute! Location is great. Half a mile from everything.
Everything was as stated. Very clean. Totally enjoyed our stay. Thanks
