Adorable cottage with all the comforts of home. Within walking distance to shopping, dining and the waterfront park of Beaufort, SC.
I have been a VRBO host for over 10 years, I know what you want.

This adorable home is a quirky little 2 bedroom 1 bath 1940's cottage located in the heart of Historic Downtown Beaufort.

We have completed the addition of a beautiful, private, back yard patio.

From this location, you can easily walk to our gorgeous waterfront park where there are lots of restaurants, galleries, and shops. There are porch swings lining the waterfront and it is a lovely place to sit and enjoy the ‘yacht parade’ on the Beaufort River, which is part of the Intracoastal Waterway. The Point neighborhood, filled with antebellum mansions used in the filming of many movies, is just 4 blocks to the east and a wonderful area for leisurely strolls.

Inside the house there is central AC (and heat), as well as whisper quiet ceiling fans in the living room and both bedrooms. It has a cozy living room with a 40' Sony Bravia flat panel TV, and a DVD player.

The kitchen is large and bright and has been completely redone with a glass top electric range, dishwasher, and refrigerator/freezer with ice maker, and a stacked washer/dryer unit. All cabinets and countertops are new, with a deep stainless steel sink and a pull down spray faucet. All pots, pans, dishes, glassware, flatware, and necessary gadgets are provided - as are small appliances like a coffee maker, toaster, blender, and a hand mixer. The kitchen is also stocked with staples such as salt and pepper, coffee, tea, and sugar - just to name some. We found a cute little 'nesting' table and 2 chairs for casual dining.

The master bedroom has the finest King size brand new in the fall of 2024 mattress and boxsprings with 100% cotton high thread sheets and fluffy new pillows. We have switched out all of our King bedding to white European Duvet & Shams during the cooler months - IF we have any - so there will still be the high thread count sheets, but instead of our white cotton Matelassé Coverlets, now you will have a duvet cover and shams. These are washed and changed between guest. It's more work, but it as we discovered, it is a better sleeping experience!

The second bedroom has a Queen bed with the same mattress, except that it is a Queen.

There is one bathroom, and while it isn't large, it is bright and fresh and comes stocked with plenty of 100% cotton fluffy towels. Amenities and a blow dryer are also provided.

The private patio has a dining table with 4 chairs and an umbrella, and 2 chaise lounges and a huge umbrella at the other end. It is a lovely place to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

Pets are allowed with prior approval and a non refundable $75 deposit. Please let me know what kind and size of pet you wish to bring so we can discuss it's appropriateness! *The yard is fenced, but PLEASE take responsibility for your pet, should it be approved. We cannot be responsible if you leave a gate or a door open of if a pet escapes.*

All you have to bring is you and your clothing - we've got the rest!

Oh - ALL of our properties are NON-SMOKING, inside and out.

Cozy Duke Cottage was just right for two of us during our first visit to Beaufort. It was within easy walking distance to the waterfront and to other historic neighborhoods. The backyard offered a quiet place to read while enjoying the warm weather. We didn't cook anything other than some eggs, but the kitchen seemed equipped to handle simple meal prep. We appreciated the binder of information, the pass to Hunting State Park (!), the great supply of paper goods, trash bags, soaps, bug repellent and some pantry items. The king bed was very comfortable, sheets and towels were great and there was plenty of hot water. Property manager Melissa was very helpful.

The Historic District cottage was warm, welcoming, beautifully decorated with an eclectic feel, well appointed and clean. I especially loved the private outdoor patio space. Upon arrival, I was greeted with a well lit home and soft music playing on the TV…What a wonderful welcome after a long car ride! The host provided an organized and thorough binder of information about dining options, grocery stores, places of interest to visit, etc. As for location, the cottage was perfect…Just a few blocks to the downtown historic waterfront with a multitude of restaurants and shops.

Check-in was easy, and the king sized bed was comfortable. The living room was cozy and the tv was nice to unwind after a long day. The internet is sufficiently fast. The location was great as well. I definitely won’t mind staying here again next time I’m in town.

Enjoyed our visit! The home was very nice. Plenty of parking on the street. At first upon entering, we thought somebody else was present because the lights were on and the TV was on with music from Pandora, and the A/C was on. Then we read the notebook, and saw that was meant to be welcoming. The A/C being on already was nice. The beds were comfy, and each bedroom had a ceiling fan. The home was clean & bright, and included a nice backyard patio with a charcoal grill. We loved Beaufort! There was a waterfront festival, great shops and restaurants. Q on Bay was very tasty for lunch, we loved Lady's Island Dockside. Fave shops were Kilwin's (ice cream and fudge), The Safe Harbor Marina Store, The Tea and Spice Exchange, and Beaufort River Glass.Things we would've liked to be different: 1) Toilet flushed very slowly, sometimes needing an extra flush. 2) VRBO advertises that all fees are included in the listed price, but we were charged extra fees, which were not specified in the VRBO listing. One fee was a cleaning fee, yet we were asked to take the trash can to the curb.

Stayed at this property with my Dad and my dog. It was perfect for us. Walking distance to downtown and the waterfront with a fenced back yard for Spot. Manager made check in easy and touched base with us to make sure everything was good. Pictures are accurate representation and we would definitely stay here again.

We arrived very late, and were very happy that the check-in procedure worked perfectly. Once inside it smelled clean, the beds were made and all we had to do was place some items in the full size fridge and get a great nights sleep. This is a quiet area with abundant streetside parking and many historic homes nearby. There are plenty of local restaurants and bars within walking distance along the waterfront. My wife and I celebrated our 21st anniversary here and were very happy with this location. One last note, the back yard is small, but completely fenced in, so our dog loved it too. Thank you to the owners/hosts/property managers. We highly recommend this VRBO spot to anyone looking to stay for a bit in Beaufort.

We were so pleased with this comfy, well appointed cottage. The location was perfect, only blocks from the waterfront. Beaufort is a walking town and we enjoyed exploring the historic district and many of the towns wonderful restaurants. The fenced yard was adorably funky, and Melissa was so helpful in being sure our little pups didn’t have a hole to ‘ escape’ through the fence. Grateful to her!!Highly recommended!!

Staying at this location was so simple and easy. My favorite part about this stay was how quick of a walk it was to get to downtown with the many places to choose from. The couch at first glance you wouldn’t think is comfy. BUT OH WOW I was very surprised. So comfortable to relax after the day on that couch. Overall great stay.

House was in a great location, very quiet, beautiful churches and easy walk into town. The fenced in backyard was a plus, my dog could go out and watch the squirrels in the trees. Even though the weather didn’t cooperate we managed to explore Hunting Island State Park, a great farmers market and do some thrift shopping. The house was well equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will be back.

Wonderful location, great property management & attention to details made for an enjoyable trip. Not sure how no one noticed or commented in the reviews about how the house has nothing level about it. Every room drops off in multiple directions. This made for some interesting times, especially getting up in the night for the bathroom. The bed that’s written up as being wonderful is really just old and lumpy. Add it to the slanted room and we didn’t get much sleep. But we did have an enjoyable time. I hate leaving reviews, especially about not as positive experiences, but I felt the reviews posted were not 100% accurate.
