It was a perfect spot for a quick 2 night stay. Clean and cozy
Walking in it smelled so bad we opened all the windows and sprayed. All the rugs were dirty(stained) as was the couches. We put sheets over the furniture so we could sit.The bath room smelled like urine, We took out the rugs sprayed with cleaner and washed floor toilet but we could not get the smell out.We kept the door shut. One bedroom have food crumbs behind the bed.The oven was very dirty. I took pictures of all of this. The outside was great, beautiful view.
Nice little out of the way place. The beach area ended up being better than I expected from the photos. We found everything we needed, and the kids played with the board games and other toys. Cabin was clean, but due to its age has a few logistical issues for those over 6 feet. Doorways to the bedrooms/bathroom and accessing the basement for laundry in particular.
The views at this little cottage are gorgeous. We loved the private, quiet beach. My kids found several sea creatures and were delighted by each one. When the sun was out, we spent lots of time floating in the bay or eating outside on the deck. The house is teeny, but was clean. The neighbors were friendly and generously offered floats/kayaks for our use, but otherwise waved from a distance. We loved the close distance to the canal bike trail and found a few things to keep us occupied nearby on the rainy days. Unfortunately, the renters before us did not adhere to the no smoking guidelines and the house smelled awful for at least 3 days which was a real challenge/disappointment. The host did let us know ahead of time at least. Kitchen could use some editing. Lots of things just “put away” wherever they fit, not a lot of organization. Was challenging to actually cook (which we did every night for budget reasons). In hindsight, I should’ve packed my own knives, scissors, cooking utensils, foil, paper towels, napkins, etc. My only other critique is the screen door. It definitely needs to be fixed/replaced. We couldn’t use it during our stay and missed out on some nice sea breezes as a result :( Overall a cute, tiny property with great views. We enjoyed our stay.
Property was perfect for our yearly sisters vacation. We loved sitting on the beach by the fire pit. Beautiful views and the neighbors were so friendly!
The property could use some updates inside and out. The outside shower didn't seem to work... we were only there a couple of days. few more bugs and cob webs than we would like to see...inside but understable at a beach location. A/C was good, beds comfortable. Scussett beach was great. Local Pizza place delivered and the pizza was good. Jonathon was a good host and helpful with information. Thank you
Property was very true to listing and reviews. My family and i had a great time, neighbors were very kind and helpful. Jonathan was timely with responses. Amazing view and atmosphere, we didnt mind the steps to the beach. The bay water was warm with lots of ocean creatures for my kids to explore and learn about...the firepit ended the days perfectly. Nothing fancy here which is how we like it, im sure this home has many stories to tell!
This cottage had what we needed for a few nights stay with most meals out or take out. For a longer visit with meal preparation and multiple showers, use of the beach and fire pit, we would have been disappointed. The bathroom was pretty scuzzy, the towels in the linen closet not fresh, but probably clean. The kitchen doesn't have a dishwasher and the stove required matches to light - all that we can handle but it was also very run down. The firewood and saw were in the poison ivy down at the beach.
Private beach. It’s small but PERFECT for my girls weekend. Adorable clean quiet neighborhood. Beautiful view from the back porch where you can see the Bourne Bridge all lit up at night. House has everything you could need and was very clean. We will book here again for sure!
Stayed for a long weekend and enjoyed our time here. The deck was great with a beautiful view. Very close to everything we needed but quiet and peaceful.
The back yard views were beautiful!
The home could use some updates , one room very musty smelling - others were fine- lots of towels and linens and well Equipped kitchen. The deck and nice views unfortunately the small beach area was not As good looking as the photos very weathered furniture.
Great place to stay definitely would book this property again !
This is such a cozy place and John was very nice to communicate with. The bay at your back door made morning coffee time special. Thank You for sharing your property with us.
Great location with friendly neighbors. House and furniture were on the older side, but clean and everything was working. My kids rated it as one of the best houses we stayed in. There is no air conditioning in the main living area, but there are window units in all the bedrooms. Kitchen has all the basics you might need. Plenty of beach chairs by the water. Beach is accessible by a long steep staircase, so not an ideal location for babies/toddlers or elderly. It has a nice sandy area at low tide which almost disappears at high tide. Location is convenient for trips to Cape cod canal and other attractions in sandwich/Hyannis area (we visited heritage gardens, Cape cod mall and went on a whale watching trip). Plenty of stores in ten minute radius if you need to stock up on food or other basics. Definitely would stay again if we decided to come back to this area.
Good house, great beach, perfect for my small children. Only bad part was the grill and outdoor shower didn't work. Bummed having a summer vacation and you can't even grill a good steak.
We loved the house, just the right size for the four of us, it would be a tight squeeze with eight though. The neighborhood was very quiet and the views are fantastic. It reminded me of my parents second home in the Adirondacks, not fancy, which is how I like it. I would book it again.
