A huge deck for entertaining, a covered carport and laundry facility are included. It's name is 'Udder Heaven' because it once housed the dairy, when the farm was active.

Our second year and lovely relaxing time.
Amazing stay - so relaxing and quiet! Udder Heaven had everything we needed and it was tough to leave! We will definitely go back!
Absolutely perfect place for a vacation!!!
The property is very beautiful and the view is spectacular. A very nice place to get away and have a quiet, relaxing vacation.
We love coming to Udder Heaven each summer and have many wonderful memories of family time together in this beautiful place.
Beautiful location. Beautiful grounds. Lodging was just right...everything needed to have a wonderful vacation.
Beautiful property in Old Lyme Family owned, well appointed Perfect location for us visiting family And mountain biking Stunning weather and views Love to come back
It does depend upon what you are looking for in a home away from home for your holiday experience. We wanted relaxed, quiet, beautiful views and a comfortable cottage. We were not looking for a luxurious home or a variety of amenities. You are in another world when you approach the entrance to Griswold Point--you are not on a paved road, there are no street lights, and you wind around other attractive homes until you reach the second floor cottage that is Udder Heaven. It has everything we could want for a comfortable home away from home, and the view from the deck is one we will always remember. There is so much to do within a day's drive of Old Lyme, and we visited art museums in New Haven, Hartford and the remarkable Florence Griswold Home and Museum in Old Lyme. We attended wonderful performances at Goodspeed Opera House and The Kate Arts center a short distance from our cottage. There is a wonderful supermarket--Big Y--that provides all that you need right in Old Lyme. The history of the Griswold family, going back ten generations to 1640, is amazing and something that you feel while you are walking around Griswold Point. This is a most unique place to stay and we felt honored to be able to share this most special experience with the Griswold family!
This was a charming farmhouse home on beautiful property. Close to the town of Mystic and the Mystic Aquarium. The owner was very easy to communicate with.
Super clean, had pretty much everything we needed (more teaspoons and a broiling pan would be nice :). Comfortable bed, nice views. I was itching for a pair of clippers to trim the giant bush but I suspect it belongs to the neighbors house, would expand the view. Our favorite was being able to just drive to the beach and have it essentially to ourselves and the occasional walkers. Lots of birds, Monarch butterflies were fun and so many of them. We'll be back for sure. It was so nice to just be some 90mins from home and feel so far away!!!
We were here for a wedding on the Griswold point. The convenience was great and it was a very cute cottage. I am a big fan of older homes with a history, and this former farm site has that. It did not hurt that the weather was incredible, as were the views.
My daughter and her husband spent there wedding night (and week) at Udder Heaven and were, well, yes in utter heaven! A nature lover's paradise, this home is absolutely lovely and charming. It has great bones, and utter escape from the hustle and bustle of the world. Don't think twice!
totally relaxing. Just what I was looking for! I will say there is a step from the deck into the rental that is unusually high that could be risky for anyone uneasy on their feet or unwary as it opens right onto the stairway.
Our family had a wonderful time - the peace and quiet, beautiful grounds and living history setting . The area has something for everyone (great ice cream 2 minutes away) and so much do do. Thanks for sharing Udder Heaven with us! The Garrahy Family
Great week at a lovely property with great access to a private beach. Our new dog enjoyed being in the ocean for the first time and we grilled out and enjoyed the sun. Lovely property that was very private and quiet. Recommend renting kayaks up the street and explore the sandbars and nesting areas from the water. We’ll be back.
We had a great time, hiking, biking and driving the truck down to the beach. We even got to take our 4 year old son kayaking for the first time . property with so much history!
'Udderly Heaven' lived up to its name in every way! The property has a fabulous view and offers an easy, pleasant walk to the beach. If you are looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, this is the perfect place. The apartment exceeded our expectations and the two of us -- along with our Labrador -- enjoyed a wonderful vacation. We look forward to returning in the future.
We were lucky to score a stay here at the start of the season—it was even better than the pictures and description! This was the perfect base for bringing our small kids to visit family and re-explore eastern Connecticut after having lived away for a decade plus—and having a relaxing place to come back to. The location was fantastic—convenient to 95 and lots of great places to eat, shop, etc., but totally secluded and serene. The views from the deck were gorgeous, and we made it a point to have several meals out there. (Pro tip: Flanders Fish Market in nearby Niantic has a great selection of seafood for cooking in the kitchen here.). We loved being able to see the osprey nests—the babies had just hatched when we were there. You’ll definitely want binoculars. The beach was great as well, and very convenient—about a 10-12 minute walk with a 4-y.o. Caroline did a great job with the cottage itself. It’s probably the best-equipped vacation rental of the 10 or so we’ve stayed at over the years. We cook a lot, and we didn’t find ourselves lacking for anything in the kitchen—there were even a number of staples and condiments provided. There were more toiletries/incidentals in the bathroom that made it very convenient in case we had forgotten anything (including sunscreen, bug spray, etc.). The laundry room downstairs was key, and we really appreciated the beach towels and beach toys—and the wagon to tote them down to the beach (and tote the 4-y.o. back…). There were also several board games in the house for varying ages, which came in handy on our one rainy morning. There’s an air conditioner and space heaters, but the weather was perfect and we didn’t need to use either—there are a ton of windows and the cottage seems well-insulated. Caroline was very communicative and answered the couple questions we had quickly. The whole experience was smooth and effortless. We’ll definitely stay here again for our next CT trip…unless it’s already booked, which apparently happens early!
We had a wonderful stay on this historic property. Caroline was easy to answer questions and did everything to make our stay enjoyable. She added a gas grill and there were many extras in the barn: beach chair and essentials you might have forgotten. The cottage was so well stocked with seriously everything you need to prepare meals including wine glasses, good quality knives and serving platters, even storage containers. The view is just glorious from the top deck with a nice table and umbrella. We enjoyed walking on the beach - a short walk, and took many drives to adjacent towns. This is a fabulous, quiet, peaceful location.
Udder Heaven exceeded all expectations! So clean and welcoming with a comfy bed - the views from the deck are outstanding. Coffee on the deck while watching the birdlife was such a highlight. This is the perfect perch from which to enjoy the CT coastline!
