The Good: First of all... this is an adorable guest house. Plenty of room for 3, super clean, well appointed... very comfortable. The back patio faces east, so in the morning it's a perfect place to enjoy your breakfast. Evenings, the back patio is in the shade... perfect for dinner. You can hear the creek (if it rained recently). The guest house is located on a gated home property, I felt very secure. The main house is 30 yards away... but I never saw/heard the owners. The owner was great in communication. The queen bed is a foam mattress, good quality, I was surprisingly comfortable on it. Kitchen has everything you need... coffee maker, toaster oven, stove or microwave, it's all in perfect condition. The Bad: The water has a very strong sulfur odor, I'm guessing from a well (?). The kitchen sink and the shower is where you'll smell it. They do have a water filtration system at the kitchen sink, that helped significantly for water needed to drink or cook. The shower is extremely narrow. It you are large in girth, this will be a difficult shower to use. I'm 6'3 and only 215 lbs. and there is no way to clean feet or pick up anything you drop without opening the shower door. Women will have a hard time shaving their legs. I was a little surprised the Checkout Instructions required me to take out the trash, strip the linens and load/start the dishwasher or I'd be charged. I thought that's what why I paid a cleaning fee.
Very Quiet
Great location, impeccably clean; hope to return.
The property was wonderful! The area was beautiful. I would love to like in Cornville ?
All went well
We really enjoyed our stay. First time using VRBO. So nice to have supplies like coffee and laundry soap. Clean and comfortable. Another reviewer commented on a sulfur smell to the water. We were there 13 nights and never experienced that, but the comment about the narrow shower is fair enough. Enjoyed the hummingbird feeder. Saw peacocks and a rabbit. Great star gazing!!!
I always judge a place that we stay by my own home. If it is nice and comfortable as my own home it gets a high rating. Carols place is absolutely a gem, next time I am in that area I will stay there. Extremely clean, nicely decorated, great bed and furniture, good coffee provided, fast internet, beautiful location with a stream to the back of the property and there is plenty of walking near that is safe and away from traffic, we even saw a Zebra on one of our walks! Sedona is less than 30 minute drive and Jerome is 15 minutes, why stay in higher priced places??? The Sunday morning we were there we drove to Oak Creek canyon and did a hike up West Fork, had lunch in Sedona and came back and took a nap! Carol is very helpful and just a text away. It was so quiet we never even knew she was there in the main house. The property is impecable and very well kept. Don't pay the high prices of Sedona when this is much better and way quieter.
This cottage was perfect for our mother daughter weekend! Thoughtful touches throughout made our stay even more enjoyable. From this location we were able to enjoy visiting Jerome, Sedona, and Flagstaff. There is so much to see in this area, we could have stayed longer and not seen it all. We also enjoyed watching the hummingbirds at the feeder. We were lucky enough to see a woodpecker and a couple of squirrels around the trees. We walked down to the creek which you can hear from the cottage. Carol's communication was great! The cottage is spotless and has all the basics provided. Thank you so much!
If you are looking for a modern, quite, out of the way place as we were, this is an excellent property. Short drive to Cottonwood where we found excellent food and wine tasting. There were 2 muffins on the counter when we got there. Nice touch. We would stay here again.
First of all, this little cottage was spotless, brand new, and filled with thoughtful, tasteful touches that made it a pleasure. Close enough to Sedona and other sites, far enough to be quiet. But the best part is the owner, Carol, who is kind, responsive and who went out of her way to help us out when we were in need. That is what we will remember.
Stayed at Carol’s Cottage for a mother-daughter mini vaca and we absolutely loved it. It was extremely clean and for me that is my number one priority. It was cozy, loved the modern decor, and we had everything we needed to help make our stay complete. The area was pretty quiet, which was nice. It’s a short drive to Sedona’s restaurants, shopping, and more. Next time I’m in the area, I’ll definitely be staying at Carols Cottage :)
