CONCH SHELL COTTAGE is at the best location on Nevis .. right at the beach.
Perfect for honeymoon, romantic holiday, one or two person retreat CONCH SHELL COTTAGE is located on a secluded white coral sand beach with the privacy of a picket fence draped in flowering bushes and palms, and acres of beach, yet without being too isolated. The interior of CONCH SHELL COTTAGE, in Caribbean style vaulted ceiling, is bright, inviting and charming with original art by local artists, is immaculately clean and very well maintained. The screened-in porch has a table, chairs, and hammock while the patio has comfortable lounge chairs for sunning, relaxing and reading. You can see the beach, hear the waves curling over the pristine reefs and enjoy the magnificent clear evening sky with moonlight and incredibly bright stars. You will be met at the airport and brought by cab and water taxi to the cottage.
Why we have so many repeat guests: CONCH SHELL COTTAGE is at the best location on Nevis, on a beautiful white coral sand beach near pristine coral reefs and privately hidden by palms and tropical flowering bushes.
Guests mention how incredible the CONCH SHELL COTTAGE staff is and how welcome they feel. Daisy will meet you at the St Kitts airport and transport you to the upscale water taxi. Marlon, tall and smiling, will greet you at the Nevis airport or wherever your water taxi lands on Nevis. He will transport you to the cottage and happily answer your questions on the way. Then Jane or Bonnie will greet you, give you an orientation to the cottage and island, and be available if you have any questions during your stay. Jeannette, the maid, has carefully cleaned the cottage for you. The gardener has created a beautiful garden. Pre-arrival, I will send you info on special car rental, restaurants, things to see and do, airline info etc, Nevis is a unique island. Nevisians are known for their friendly smiles and welcome to visitors. Nevis is special with only about 12,000 people, no high rise buildings (nothing taller than a palm tree allowed), no large cruise ships, no gambling.
We loved Conch Shell Cottage and would love to return someday. It was a perfect size for us, clean, and offered very easy access to a private beach. The garden was also lovely. We were suprised that the Nisbet Plantation had closed and fallen into disrepair from the COVID crisis affecting tourist access. We had looked forward to droppimg over for a meal. However, it being closed brought us so much more quiet and privacy , it was not an issue. Jane, the owner had made all the arrangements for us to be met at the airport in St Kitts, brought to a water taxi and then met in Nevis by our car rental guy who helped us find the cottage. This was a welcome gift from Jane and was truly priceless.
Great location close to beach. We enjoyed our stay. Jane and property manager Bonnie made sure everything went smoothly. Our flight was late arriving almost at midnight but they made sure all our connections worked. The cottage was clean and as expected. It is small but works. We were disappointed that Nesbitt resort next door was not open. It closed a couple years ago. It is now beyond reopening without new ownership and major renovations. We rented a car from Marlon Loncke. [email protected] Marlon’s wife was waiting with the car at midnight. She made sure we got to the cottage where Bonnie was waiting to welcome us. Car is necessary if you want to tour the Island. All the restaurants we ate at were great. Bananas, The Rock, Drift, Indian Summer, roadside BBQ, and pizza at Runway Grill just by Nevis airport. A much needed relaxing vacation. Everyone on Nevis was friendly and helpful.
We loved our time at Conch Shell Cottage, a great place to relax and unwind. The location is amazing, steps from the beach. The cottage is well-equipped and clean and the hosts are very nice, accommodating and communicative. We’d highly recommend this place.
I don’t want to say too many good things or this property will always be booked. Great location, helpful owners, fantastic island. It’s paradise. Nisbet Plantation Resort is right next door, access to beach, pool, beach bar and restaurant. First Class! Recommend Drift, Golden Rock, Yatchmans Grill restaurants, but plenty we missed. Oualie Beach is a shallow, accessible beach for young kids and the disabled. Close to the property. Nevis Botanical Gardens is worth the drive, Thanks again to Jane Paul for all her help, especially considering she was managing cancellations during our stay due to the Coronavirus.
Great, young and old a like
We had a great 2 weeks in Nevis!!! Jane was great! It was seamless getting from airport to the cabin. Marlon was so helpful and gave us a awesome city tour which Jane provided. We rented a car for a week and it is well worth it. The island is easy to drive as it does not have much traffic. This was the first time we drove on left and had no issues. Thanks Jane for all your help and hospitality. The beach is awesome. The donkeys and sheep and monkeys are so fun to watch. Tour St. Kitts it is a well worth it but nice to come back to quiet! Cannot wait to return.
What a great little cottage and nice and private. Perfect beach with the convenience of resort amenities next door. Rent a car and it opens all kinds of opportunities to see things. Well worth the money!
The Conch Shell Cottage is a special hidden gem. The Conch Shell abuts the Nisbet Plantation Inn so you have access to all of their amends but it's tucked away so that feel as if you are on the island alone. You wake up to the sound of the ocean, birds chirping, and the wind blowing through the palm trees. The sight out your front door is just as serene. Meticulously maintained, you will never want for anything in this beach bungalow. You are provided with an oven, fridge, microwave, cooler, television, DVD player, and Wi-Fi. We spent our mornings drinking coffee on the screened in porch and it was the perfect way to start our relaxing day. We love this cottage and can't wait to return.
I can't say enough good things about this vacation experience. In every respect the property and the people who were involved in this rental exceeded our expectations. The information given to us before arrival was thorough and accurate. The pickup and delivery to the cottage was flawless and the cottage and amenities were excellent. We will be back
All the glowing reviews are accurate. I'll try to add a couple things others haven't noted. 1. The bed. SO comfortable! I was a little concerned from the photo before we came, because it seemed a bit small and my husband and I are tall and used to a king sized bed. No worries! The mattress is so comfortable, we had enough room, and slept amazingly well. The best was waking up each morning, looking out at the sea, without even having to get out of bed. 2. The solitude. The beach is not busy; on my morning walks I would see at most a couple of people. In the afternoon about 10 locals would gather on Herbert's beach, a short walk from ours. And there are people at Nisbet's, which is super handy if you want a great lunch on the beach or an afternoon cocktail. The house is so private; sitting in the screen porch I felt like we were the only people on the island. 3. Alternative transportation. All the reviews are correct in that Marlon is wonderful, definitely would rent a car from him. And if you want to get around in the evenings, try different restaurants, see all the sights, that's definitely the way to go. However, we decided to hang out mostly at the house, go to town during the work day, have lunch in town, and cook for ourselves in the evening. So we opted for the public buses. They are actually privately owned tricked out vans, with driver-owners licensed by the government. They are painted with colorful designs and names. They all have green license plates that begin with H or HA. You wait at the bus stop (there are lots, all along the main road) or flag one down as you're walking. When you see one going the direction you want to go, you do kind of a downward wave of your hand. It costs $2 US or 4 EC to go into Charlestown. They will drop you off anywhere along the way; if you want a stop off the main road it's an extra dollar. The downside is that they have no schedule, you just have to wait and hope, and they don't run after dark. But we had no issues getting over between 8-10 AM and noon - 2 PM. If you're wondering if this place can be as great as it looks, and as great as everyone says, the answer is YES!! Jane is a great hostess, and the gift she gives you of transportation to the house and the tour of the island by Marlon is a wonderful bonus.
