Compass Cottage is your perfect getaway spot. Built in the late 1800s, the cottage has retained it’s architectural style as a “breezeway house” with two front doors and many original touches. Centrally located to Glen Rose’s historic downtown, it is within a short walk to restaurants, parks, museums, and shopping. The cottage is filled with charm and equipped to make your weekend vacation or extended stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible.

The cottage has 3bedrooms, a full kitchen, a dining room that seats 8, a bathroom with a clawfoot tub and shower, a washer/dryer (detergent provided), a front porch for relaxing and watching the passing traffic, and a partially fenced backyard for enjoying time outdoors.

The cottage is on Barnard Street, the main road to downtown. A sidewalk takes you directly to the main square where the restaurants and shopping are located.

The cottage is professionally cleaned after each guest.

This home has charming small-town feel with lots of character and all the amenities we need. My daughters enjoyed playing with the box full of toy animals in the hutch. The location is wonderful as we walked to the square for meals and shopping, and right next door is a fun cafe for lunch. The owner was helpful and quick to respond to me. Highly recommend this place.

Compass House is even better than the online photos show. The house is very spacious and was immaculately clean. We all enjoyed playing games at the dining room table.and visiting the Barnard Mill art gallery..

Just what we needed. A place for a small group of guys to spend 2 nights. Have some fireside chats and go back and forth to Riverbend retreat!

Cute house, well-kept, and great location easily walkable to town shops and restaurants. The two restaurants we went to in Glen Rose were fabulous: Riverhouse Grill and Whiskey Woods Steakhouse. We did have trouble regulating the temperature. The first night we were freezing! It is an old and drafty house, so if you visit in the winter, be sure to turn up the heat well before going to bed. Very clean, shower works great but bathtub does not have a stopper.

This cottage is tastefully decorated and in a prime location for all sites in Glen Rose. We really enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend the cafe next door for lunch. We could walk downtown easily too. The house is gorgeous and very clean. Would rent again.

Very clean, comfortable ! Our complaint was the traffic noise and the parking. Also there was nothing on the property that gave us what we needed to do checking out! But think we did everything that was sent to my e-mail after we had left!

The home was great and had everything we needed, including plenty of books, games, and toys for our kids.

This is an adorable old cottage. All the furnishings were very comfortable and tasteful. The fireplace was our favorite thing! Kitchen was bright and spacious. The front porch swing was nice. It was only two blocks from the square and an easy walk to the river. The road noise was the only negative, but we just didn't take that into consideration when we picked the spot. Over all we LOVED IT!
