We filled the house with three generations of my wife's family, all attending our son's wedding at nearby Camp Lanakila. The owners are most helpful and gracious and the house is well outfitted with two Sunfish sailboats, kayaks, etc. We swam in the lake on three of our four mornings. The great room with its high ceilings, covered porch facing east and south, was plenty big for all of us. The beds are comfortable and we slept well with the breezes off the lake. We would definitely stay there again. But fair warning: the plumbing fixtures are archaic and must be original to the house. The kitchen has a portable dishwasher that works well but the old enameled, cast iron sink and counter are out of a movie set. Likewise the little bedroom sinks have separate hot and cold spigots that barely reach into the sink bowl. One of the showers backed up and leaked into the great room below. Hot water was plentiful if inclined to fluctuate in temperature. The bathroom wall and floor tiles had grotty grouting. Lastly, the windows would benefit from a cleaning to get rid of the spider webs, spiders, dust, pine needles, etc. This is a unique property that we really enjoyed but may not be for the squeamish. They should go to the Holiday Inn Express down the road.
