Stayed Aug 3, 2019The cottage is small but very nice, very clean and so close to the beach! Old orchard beach is just five minutes away and there is a trolly to take you there. We’d be happy to stay there again ⛱

Stayed May 19, 2018It was a very cute Cottage and very clean however it was very small and the furniture was very uncomfortable and unfortunately we had poor weather which had us staying in more then if there was nicer weather. In addition with it being off season everything was closed pretty much except for on the weekend and we were only there on Saturday night and Sunday. During the week most stuff was closed because it was not in season yet. The people were friendly and the little town was cute with a nice little beach nook. Huots has fabulous food.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Clamshell Cottage was perfect for our needs. The location was great - we loved the proximity to the beach and took long walks every day. We also enjoyed shorter strolls around the pier and the pleasant nearby Camp Ellis neighborhoods. Everything worked in the cottage and was laid out well to maximize the space. (As a couple with a dog, we had plenty of room.) The local restaurant and general store were closed for the season, but there was a nearby supermarket in Saco and a few restaurants were still open in nearby Old Orchard Beach. We even had sunshine every day! We'd visit Clamshell Cottage again if our travels take us to that area, and we recommend it to others.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This was our best vacation for relaxation. Steps away from the ocean, perfect cottage for 4 adults. The listing was as stated, close to ocean, cottage style, clean and great location. Many things to do in Camp Ellis as well as great walks along the beach and jetty. Great history behind the area, my daughter did a college presentation from this vacation. Went to Portland for a Seadogs game and shopping, chartered a fishing trip right from Camp Ellis, steamed lobsters from Fishin' Optician, ate at Houyt's. Just simply a wonderful vacation that didn't cost an arm and a leg!!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969I was there with my son and our dog in late June 2010. As soon as we drove into Camp Ellis I knew we had found something special. The cottage's proximity to a lovely, peaceful beach was such a treat for us. We had terrific dinners at Hout's and Wormwood's and more than one enjoyable breakfast at the General Store's Clamshell Cafe. It was so nice to be able to walk to all of these places and I came to think of them as OUR neighborhood restaurants! The cottage was clean and comfortable. I loved the air conditioned master bedroom, the three television sets and most of all the washer/dryer... We took mini trips to Cape Elizabeth, Orchard Beach and Fun Town/Splash world, but otherwise we stayed happily put. While I was there I was wishing I could live there full time and it was difficult to leave when the week was up. There was a guest book there and when I glanced through it, all of the comments I read sounded as pleased with the place as I was. Late June was a perfect time to go – everything was open, but never a crowd or a line anywhere we went. I truly hope to go back!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Our stay at the Clamshell was great. We enjoyed the cottage and the beach a lot. Camp Ellis is a wonderful place if you love the sea : quiet, fabulous sunsets, delicious live lobsters at Fish'n Optician just across the street, attraction neerby (Saco, Kennebunk, Kittery, Portland and even Old Orchard Beach if you like crowdy places!) The owner and the people in Camp Ellis are kind and friendly . The Clamshell is nice and functional for adults with kids. The beach is less than a minute away. We look forward to come again next year and even try it in winter. The only small inconvenient is for people with allergies (like me), because it's pet friendly... Despite this, we can't wait to go back!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969i would reccomend this place to a friend, it is done tastefully in a nautical theme.the property is clean and well maintained.the owners were there the same week as we were they were helpful and friendly. its across the street from the ocean, its in a good location there are 2 restaurants up the street, a general store, that has takeout and a eat in cafe for breakfast and lunch also excellent coffee. you can walk to the harbor and watch the fishermen coming and going, also a mile long jetty to walk or fish off. if you have a dog it is pet friendly the beach and the cottage. my lab loved it here, both the local and the out of towners are friendly. if you want to boil your own lobsters there is one across the street and others onthe side streets through out the town. i would reccomend this to anyone who loves maine as i do it has it all. i know im coming back next year cant wait. linda mike and bella
