Overall, I would say we had a pretty good stay. I had a few issues with getting responses when I submitted questions via VRBO and then the Evolve team who I assume helps manage the property. The day before, I finally had a text response and communication was fine after that. The property is a older and nothing fancy, but it met our needs for the stay. Driveway is a bit steep, but doable. Four-wheel drive may be a good option in poor weather. The location was good given the places we planned to go. Easy access to Pisgah and Blue Ridge parkway. The fall colors were really starting to pop so we had a very enjoyable time. The location of the property is very quiet and surrounded by trees. We sat out and enjoyed the peace and quiet. The only downside for us was a few of the things put on us to do. The idea of sorting trash, emptying, washing out and drying cans/bottles was more work than we wanted to do. We ended up just taking the trash on our own. A few other things like stripping the beds, starting a load of wash, cleaning all the dishes and putting them away(no dishwasher) were also things we would have preferred not to do. We prefer to relax and not do too much work while on vacation.
Cottage was musty smelling upon entering. We kept window air units off which helped. Would list this as rustic cottage. Needs updated. No satellite tv but had Netflix etc. Did have some issues but owner was very quick to fix. Beautiful serene setting.
We loved the décor and the very spacious deck. The kitchen had all the kitchen supplies we needed and even had spices. Susan, our contact, responded quickly to questions. She even had a welcome gift for us. There were clear instructions, including how to navigate the steep drive way, which is quite tricky for Floridians like us who are not used to the hills/mountains.
Upstairs is very nice and porch over carport was excellent. Stairs from downstairs to upstairs are very steep with a threshold that could cause trip problems if unaware. Driveway is very steep. Toilets backed up but owner was on top of it. I actually unclogged one myself. All in all a pretty nice stay in a nice area.
The property was surrounded by woods with a great sized porch on the second floor. Very cozy inside...

We had a wonderful stay-perfect for a laid back girl's weekend. We truly just needed a place to be able to hang out and catch up with each other. The home was well stocked and is close to Brevard and Hendersonville to find great restaurants.
We enjoyed our stay and found the description of property very accurate. Using the connecting driveway was very helpful as we had a large truck. There were four adults in our family and everyone slept in their own bed as none were really large enough for two adults. Overall it was a comfortable stay though!
This place is beautifully decorated to match its surroundings, with plenty of space indoors and out. The host went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of, including helping us when we locked ourselves out in -1 degrees temp! Wish we could have stayed longer but the record breaking storm shortened our trip.
The driveway is really steep. A 4 wheel drive is best. We did have some little “visitors” indoors so be aware you are in the forest!
We had a wonderful stay at this property. It made a perfect jumping off point for our adventures is Hendersonville, Asheville, and the Pisgah National Forest. The cabin was very clean and well maintained. It was an excellent value for the money and we would absolutely stay there again! My kids were especially excited to use the old fashioned VHS player and learn the secrets of rewinding tapes. The only thing I would caution future residents is that the driveway is extremely steep. When we arrived we had a bunch of bikes on the back of our minivan and we had to unload them and walk them up the driveway to make it up. It would have been helpful to know in advance that we could use the less steep driveway at the adjoining house. Once we knew that we were fine for the rest of our trip. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Excellent
For the reasonable rates, for the number of beds, for the location, for the friendly managers, for the location....we have stayed before and will stay again. Thanks!
