Stayed Jan 27, 2026Ruben welcomed us to the house personally then gave us our privacy after that. He answered all questions and requests promptly, but his house was a JEWEL in the Nicoya area. My wife's family is from Nicoya and we have stayed in the area 35 years. Ruben's house WOWED us. It blended into the tropical landscape, was only one floor, but was HUGE. This house was built by a very good architect. The huge doors and all the windows being able to be open pushed a breeze through the entire home. The house was very clean, and it was MUCH MORE than we anticipated for the area. We are coming back for sure. Ruben has already indicated that we are more than welcome.

Stayed Jan 27, 2025We consider ourselves fortunate to have the privilege of staying at this spectacular architecture designed home. The property has a master bedroom with attached ensuite as well as 2 additional bedrooms and an additional washroom. We appreciated how well the kitchen was stocked with “extras” such as paper towels, napkins, salt, pepper, other spices, sugar and coffee. We were met at the gate and given a tour of the house at check-in. The grounds are large and very private. Attached to the kitchen is a huge outdoor living area with seating and eating areas. I want to mention the high quality linens - both bedding and towels. The house and outdoor living areas were spotless. Something we appreciate was the quality of the roads leading to the house (if you have driven off the main roads in Costa Rica, you know what I am talking about). Any questions we had were answered promptly. The property is managed by the owner and pride of ownership shows through out the whole property! We would absolutely stay here again if the opportunity ever arose.

Stayed May 25, 2024The property itself is like a park. The house is expansive and designed in a way that makes it easy to gather and be sociable. There are also spaces that allow individual privacy. The kitchen is very usable and includes an island for food preparation and chatting. This rental makes a good headquarters for day trips to nearby attractions.

Stayed Feb 27, 2024The home was a work of art designed by the owner/ architect. Owners were great and the wife even made us a traditional Costa Rican dessert. We went hiking at Barra Honda national Park down the road from the property and had a blast. Thanks again to the owners!

Stayed Feb 8, 2024Very nice house. My only regret was that I didn't have more time to enjoy it longer. The hosts were very nice and easy to work with. I highly recommend this property!

Stayed Feb 2, 2024This home is truly stunning. When we arrived the owners greeted us and gave us the history of the house. Designed and built by the architect owner, It has soaring ceilings and an immense glass door which rolls away to bring the beautiful patio and garden into the living space. We had everything we needed and the house proved a tranquil space to return to from extraordinary outings in Barra Honda National Park. Rubén was courteous, answered all our questions and gave us tips about shopping in the area. What a lovely place and welcoming hosts!
