Stayed Sep 5, 2025This little Cabin is so cosy, clean and well equipped. A lovely welcome was the fruitbowl, bread and water. We had a wonderful 10 days stay. A walk into Clifden needs about 10/15 minutes, by car 5 minutes. Free parking under the Supervalu shop. Nice restaurants with good food and drinks. Very friendly people. There a many good roads for exploring the surroundings by car or for walks. A trip to Galway by bus (Citylink) is not expensive an so easy to relax without your own car.We enjoyed our time here very much and if we come back to Clifden we make sure to stay again in our Cabin 438.Dagmar and Pete from Cologne/Kilkenny

Stayed Jan 1, 1When entering the cabin we were very pleasantly surprised with a basket of deal goodies, including fruit, bread and milk! The place was tidy and clean and very well equipped. There even was a washing machine ! All in all we had a very pleasant stay, even when the weather is not cooperating 100%.

Stayed Jan 1, 1Very nice cabin with everything you need for a pleasant stay in Clifden. Fully equiped kitchen and even a washing machine. Short walk to the center and nice starting point for cycling. Outdoor chairs could be more comfortable but the bench in the sun compensates this.

Stayed Jan 1, 1Very nice chalet, very pleasant, very clean, with very comfortable bedding, and all the amenities needed for a short stay. Fruit, coffee, tea, etc. were available upon our arrival. It is close to Clifden and is perfectly located for exploring Connemara. Thank you so much for everything.

Stayed Jan 1, 1Second time already in the little Cabin near Clifden, and this time not only the weather was quite adverse, but I caught a flu on the second day and was confined to my home from home for a while. All the more, I cherished the cleanliness of the house, and all the useful amenities which even made it nice to spend some time indoors, just looking out at the beautiful nature, the lake, and taking short strolls on the Greenway which starts at your doorstep. For the rest, this time I took many buses to different towns like Westport (easy access even to Achill Island from there), Roundstone, An Cheathru, Killary Fjord, Letterfrack and Oughterard. So it is not only the perfect hub for many outdoors adventures like climibing, hiking, kayaking and biking, but also a great place to see a lot of beautiful Connemara from there, even once you are not so much into outdoor activities. Lisa, my host, was always there within a split second whenever I needed her, but still left total space for privacy. Clifden remains a most charming town with lots of nice shops, restaurants and pubs and very friendly people. Heartfelt thanks to everybody and hope to be back soon.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969First and foremost trust the directions they provide and NOT GPS! (nothing terrible happened but the GPS took us down a single track road that ends with a foot path or bike path and no cottage, had we only followed the directions we would have been fine) We arrived after dark on Thanksgiving Day (it's obvious we are American) to our cottage and what a happy site to see it all lit up for our arrival. The road is a bit tricky but if you've driven in the country this is no surprise. The cottage was just as pictured and took no time to heat to our comfort level. We were gifted fresh fruit, bread, butter, milk and a big jug of water. We settled quickly and then went into town for a bite to eat. Our slumber was lovely, the cottage linens were warm and cozy and it was not long before the daylight came and showed us a gorgeous view of FOG! However after a cuppa and some bleary eyes cleared so did the view of the water and mountains. I felt the calm and serene of our location. You will not be disappointed if you book this cabin, I only am disappointed we didn't stay longer.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Cabin 438 is located a nice 10 min walk from the beautiful town center of Clifden and the coach station. Both food shops, supermarkets and great pubs (many with live music!) and restaurants (many with fresh seafood), bike rentals ,coffee shops and a lot of other nice clothes and gift shops are in easy reach. Coming home at night sometimes you can see and hear deer jumping off into the fields! Great location too for hikes and bike rides to great places like Letterfrack and Diamond Hill, the Mannin Bay, Inishbofin Island and Cleggan, the Kylemore Abbey and the Connemara National Park. The breathtaking SKY Route with its varieties starts 10 min from the Cabin, and the Greenway which will be connecting Galway and Clifden one day stretches for about 6 km also directly from your doorstep. The cabin itself is so sweet and nice, you have absolute peace and quiet all day and night, it s comfortable and was so super clean as if I had been the first tenant ever. All installations, equipment and furnishings were also in top shape and functional, so you really have everything you need and could wish for. Lisa, the landlady, was always in easy reach, even for questions not related to the cabin itself, a true darling and most helpful. Highly recommended - I already asked for a renewal!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969I stayed for roughly 2 weeks at the cabin in July whilst working around Connemara, and it provided me the perfect place to have a nice quiet morning watching the horses and mountains in the distance, and then lovely cosy evenings watching the colours change in the fields and watching a movie. The sound of the rain (it is Connemara afteral) on the roof was especially relaxing. The cabin is I'd say brand new or near enough, it is warm, well decorated and extremely clean. The facilities provided were all brilliantly clean and of an extremely high standard. Great WiFi. A washing machine and detergent, oven, and all the pots and pans and cutlery you'd need to cook a decent meal. There was milk, fruit, bread, and bottled water waiting for me on my arrival as well. Along with salt & pepper and the essentials. Lisa and her husband were extremely welcoming and hospitable, going out of there way to answer questions I had, whilst also giving me space and privacy. Overall, it was the perfect place for me to stay, and, truth be told I was a little bit sad to leave!
