Our 2 bedroom, 2-1/2 bath open-concept home has amazing, panoramic views of the British Virgin Islands and the East end of St John, near beautiful Coral Bay, St. John, USVI. Perched above Johns Folly Bay, the wrap-around decks on the top floor provide plenty of space for outdoor dining and lounging, all with unbeatable views! The gentle trade winds make the decks a perfect place to relax, day or night, and watch the amazing sun and moon rises. This secluded spot for star gazing is fantastic.

Large picture windows provide unobstructed views from inside, while the lower screened louvers allow for the comfortable breeze to naturally cool the cottage. The kitchen has everything you’ll need to feel at home, and has plenty of space with granite countertops and a breakfast bar. Also upstairs is a dining area, a half-bath, and a living area with a 50 smart TV. Convenient interior stairs lead to the lower bedroom level, where both bedrooms have their own ensuite bathrooms. One room has a king bed, the other two twins (that can be made into a king if requested). Plenty of storage in the closets and 4 large built-in drawers.

UPDATE - We've made improvements in October and November of 2023! Some of the changes are new outdoor furniture, new dining table, fresh paint and staining, new light fixtures and ceiling fans, added a hammock, added a 50” framed TV, and FAST Starlink internet with battery backup.

Horizons is a private, tranquil cottage perfect for relaxing on the quiet side of St. John. Yet it’s only minutes away from Miss Lucy’s restaurant, Pizzabar in Paradise, and Calabash Market. 10 minutes to Coral Bay’s restaurants, bars, shops, and equipment rentals. Less than 1 mile to one of the best beaches on the island, Salt Pond Beach, and the scenic Ram Head trail. A few minutes further brings you into the National Park with more beaches and hikes to explore – the most secluded on the island.

The cottage is located near the end of a quiet, private, paved road. No traffic noise or bumpy, steep, rocky roads that require 4-wheel drive. You’ll have easy access to a peaceful getaway, surrounded by nature, the sound of the ocean below, and expansive views of the Caribbean Sea and surrounding islands.

Rates are based on 1 or 2 people. For 3 or 4 people another $50 each per night will be added to the rate. Please note the second bedroom/bathroom will be locked if the cottage is rented for 1 or 2 people.

Need a third bedroom We also own a 1 bedroom, 1-1/2 bath cottage next door. Both are very private, but close enough to walk between the two. See photos for an aerial view of both properties. The VRBO link is: https://www.vrbo.com/2615917

We had an awesome trip in St John, could have stayed another week! So many beaches to choose from, and each absolutely beautiful. The layout of the house is perfect. Loved the indoor/outdoor shower. The house had everything we needed. After spending months indoors in the cold weather it was heaven to spend a week enjoying the fresh ocean breezes, especially at night.

Spectacular cottage with amazing views and sounds of the ocean. Johns folly area in Coral Bay. Quiet, serene. Basically where you would imagine staying in paradise

This is a very nice house, with incredible views and a convenient location to Coral Bay. We especially enjoyed the large wrap-around deck, which almost always allowed you to be outside, but out of the sun.

This trip was a tale of two aspects of St, John. The cottage itself is beautiful and has unbelievable views and ocean breezes. It is well equipped, and is best for 1-2 couples or a small family. It is a fair ways off the beaten path, and even though the whole island is only 10 miles long, with 20 mph winding roads, it does take some time to get to from the car ferry. The beaches are world class, incredibly clear water and amazing snorkeling! We snorkeled Trunk, Cinnamon and Maho Bays, all with different experiences. Hundreds of fish and coral and turtles, sting rays, squid, lobsters, starfish, etc. Totally worth it - but get to the beach early, we arrived 8-9 AM daily to get a parking spot. The second tale of this trip is the reality of a tropical island with limited infrastructure. We had rain, which was not unexpected but you can’t do much when it rains hard, so plan accordingly. And then the power outages! We counted at least six separate times we lost power for more than two hours, including an island wide outage for 20 hours! With no plumbing or electricity there is not much to do in the cottage when it’s 90 degrees outside. And everyone else is looking for the 1-2 places open to eat that have generators. This is not any fault of the owner and the on island contact was great but could do little about it. Perhaps a generator or solar backup would be worthwhile? In any case, we would go again for the snorkeling, but probably at a cooler drier time of year.

If you're looking for a great view, this one can't be beat. The wrap around deck allowed us to enjoy sun or shade at any time of the day. The home was comfortably furnished, & had excellent ventilation through louvered windows. Kitchen was set up well, and had everything we needed to make a quick meal. The Coral Bay area is laid back, and relatively uncrowded. Just what we were looking for! Salt Pond Bay beach parking is 3 minutes away, and snorkeling there is really good. Other great beaches are generally within a 20 minute car ride. Jeep recommended. Awesome.

The place was just as described. It was totally comfortable and well-stocked with everything we needed. We were there as myself, my husband, our adult son and his girlfriend. We had a fabulous time, even with some rainy days, because the house was comfortable and the views from every room were breath-taking.

Horizons Cottage is awesome! This house is as advertised with plenty of space and spectacular views of John Folly’s Bay (and the British Virgin Islands in the distance) from both levels of house with lots of outdoor seating options. The picture window from the main bedroom downstairs was nothing short of breathtaking. Also, it was quiet. We heard the ocean 24 hours a day, crickets at night, and the gentle rustling of leaves (and palm fronds) from the breeze through nearby trees. The house was well stocked with all supplies, accessories, and linens any houseguest would need. Finally, a shout-out to the property manager who was a lifesaver! Not only was she friendly and responsive to all questions, she offered to drive (with us following in our rented Jeep) to the property on the first day. (We arrived near dark and would have easily gotten lost.) This was after she met us at one of the grocery stores and encouraged us to take our time buying whatever groceries we might want at the house. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Horizons cottage. We would definitely stay there again.
