Kids will love running down the dunes and frolicking in the crystal blue water of Lake Michigan. For the older ‘kids’ Traverse City offers great shopping, eating, and the Old Mission Peninsula- home to 8 magnificent wineries.
This is a well appointed, well kept property. There is access to a lovely beach and lake. It is in a location suited for many Northern Michigan attractions. It seemed to us that we might have been the first guests of the season, as it did not seem anyone had been there in some time. Unfortunately, it was 90+ degrees and very humid the first few days of our stay. We were unable to cool the cottage despite opening all windows and purchasing an additional fan. All bed linens were flannel, further adding to our discomfort. Fortunately, the weather did break. Although the description does note there is no internet, Internet and Wireless are both listed as amenities in that section. The closest reliable cell service was a 10 minute drive a way, and we use two different carriers (Sprint and AT&T). It is apparent this owner cares a great deal for this property, and wants guests to love it just as much.
This cabin was exactly what we were looking for. Our kids (4 & 7) loved the bunk beds upstairs and felt like they had their own little 'house.' The beach was an easy walk away, but not so close that we were worried about our kids getting in the water without us. We appreciated the lack of internet and connectivity, because neither of us are great at completely leaving work behind. It did make texting to let our host know we'd checked out a little tricky, but Nicole was very understanding. The cabin is in close proximity to kayaking and canoeing as well as trails in the Manistee National Forest. The cabin was clean and easy to keep clean, and everything worked. The kitchen was stocked with pots and pans, so all we had to do was bring the groceries. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Really enjoyed the stay and the owners were easy to work with.
The lake was only 500 feet away. We had a great time here for four days. The house had all the amenities we needed. The house doesn’t have WiFi or cable, but it was nice to do without that for a few days. No A/C in the house, which is the only negative we had. It was a hot week and kind of uncomfortable to sleep. Other than that, thanks for the great week!
The cottage had absolutely everything we needed for our stay. At first, we were a little concerned that it didn’t have air conditioning but the owners were right.... at night it cools off very nicely and it did! The closing procedures were a bit extreme and we were still charged a cleaning fee...
Enjoyed it very much it was close to family over on Tamarack so it worked out well
Absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful cabin! The kids loved the bunk room and we loved being able to see the beach from the porch! You can feel the love in this place, it's nice that it's not just a property purchased for the sole intent to rent out. The only way it could be better would be if guests could pay a fee to bring their furry family members :) Highly recommend!
Good location, very clean and well kept cottage
It was just ok
I picked this cottage based on previous reviews and it did not disappoint. Absolutely beautiful place. Very quiet and peaceful. Very spacious and comfortable. Baldwin is only a few minutes away if you need to run into town and Sleeping Bear Dunes is a great day trip from here. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Cell service is nonexistent in the house, but if you walk a few feet toward the beach, there is scant reception (I only used the phone to let family know I made it there). As the description states, there is no a/c, but it is not needed. The lake breezes cool off the cottage nicely. Also there is no wi-fi or cable/satelite (thought I'd miss it, but really didn't). Bring your own movies or select from the ones at the cottage. We brought board games, cards, movies and the bluetooth speaker to listen to music. Before we left today (8/14/17), we were already planning our next visit!
