This cottage met and exceeded all of our expectations. From walking in the front door and viewing the beautiful cove through the dining room window; feeling at home right away and using the well-equipped kitchen, relaxing on the deck, and sleeping in a comfortable bed; and the easy drive to the trails of Acadia and to the rest of Mt. Desert Island; we enjoyed everything about Biello Cottage.
The cottage is beautiful - woody, wonderfully decorated, tons of task lighting (great for those of us who read on our vacations!), pretty rugs, stunning views. It was the most well-equipped rental we've ever stayed at. Every kind of kitchen appliance was there and plenty of seating. Lots of wildlife in the bay and on the property. We saw seals, osprey fishing, eagles, warblers, a young raptor in the woods, and even a woodchuck! The fact that there's no central heating was a bit of an issue as it was cold often day and night even in late June. It's hard to regulate heat with a wood stove but there was plenty of wood provided. We did find the couches uncomfortable as they are short, shallow, with low backs and wooden arms. But great cable and Roku offerings as well as solid internet. Comfortable chairs on the deck with nice umbrellas. We very much enjoyed our time there and didn't want to leave. We hope to come back when the weather isn't quite so uncooperative!
The deck was great. We spent most of the time there. Livingroom furniture was uncomfortable but we didn't plan to spend much time there anyway. Beds were pretty good too and they had all of the kitchen items that we needed Would stay again.
