Stayed Jan 1, 1The lodge was easy enough to find but we were thankful the second lodge wasn't occupied as parking would be very tight. It would be helpful if there was some basic solar lighting or similar leading from the carpark to the lodge for after dark returns. The lodge is furnished as per pictures, perhaps the rugs and cushions should be of a more durable nature (less fluffy). We enjoyed the ease of access to mountain bike trails in Banchory and the public bus service between the key Deeside towns is good albeit you need to get in to Banchory to start your journey. The kitchen had all we needed and the washing facilities are adjacent which is handy. Overall a nice 6 night stay and we were impressed with Banchory amenities.

Stayed Jan 1, 1Absolutely wonderful place to stay, lovely and quiet, beautiful environment inside and outside the cabins, and we had a wonderful family gathering over a couple of nights, using both facilities, and making full use of the lovely veranda at the end of a warm evening – thank you!

Stayed Mar 19, 2025This simple, cosy cabin was great for a family holiday with 4 generations. The ramp, grab rails in the bathroom and one level living helped the elderly and the cot, high chair and laundry room worked for the baby. The cabin was clean, warm, welcoming and functional. We enjoyed the sunny deck and the daffodils.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969A lovely lodge with everything you need for a home from home break. The lodge was lovely and clean. The beds were very comfy and the wood burner was a nice touch, especially when it was cold in October. A nice area for kids to play in. My wee boy appreciated the goals to play football with. A nice base for Banchory and the surrounding area. Need to take the car to travel to shops but a lovely, quiet area to get away from everything. Thank you!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Lodge is a little tired and showing its age. Mattresses have seen better days. Car parking a little small, particularly if people are in the other lodge

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Overall our stay at Ben Macdui was good. The lodge was well equipped for kitchen needs, it has plenty of storage in the bedrooms and the log burner is a cosy addition for colder evenings. We used it as a base from which to explore Aberdeenshire and Kincardineshire. It was quiet and the welcome pack was a lovely addition. We had a small issue with broadband which the owners resolved promptly. The owners were friendly and helpful. There were a few areas for improvement. Primarily the car parking, it was very small when there were other cars there. I imagine there is space for 3 cars but only when sensibly parked. The shower in the main bathroom looks like it's been part renewed, but needs a new holder to go with the new head as when turned on it falls off it's holder.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Our family of 5 had the perfect stay, we were had a long drive up and was welcomed with a lovely little hamper. The rooms were ideal and spacious enough. Especially with 3 teenagers. The bathroom could have had locks that worked, just to save. Don’t come in the bathroom every 5 minutes from the kids! Ha. We spent most our days out about exploring with friends but the lodge was more than adequate to entertain friends. Whilst the children played outside, we sat on the large deck area eating enjoying food together. I found their website to be really helpful and referred to the list of things to do - highly recommend working your way through their suggestions. We also used Banchory Cycles to hire bikes out for our son’s 15th birthday. Only £25.00 for the day. They had the best time exploring the area. Will definitely be returning and have already recommended to friends. We loved it - just wish we had booked for longer.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The cabin was very comfortable and in excellent location. It had all the necessary equipment . A washing machine would be helpful as the weather is so changeable. A delightful stay . The WiFi was unpredictable but on the walks we could get good signal to book our days out .
