Stayed Jan 1, 1Perfect place to stay in tranquil village setting - a real bolt hole away from the business of everyday life. Great walks directly from the village and good to be able to get the foot ferry to Dartmouth. Shippon End was a good place to stay and was clean and comfortable.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Lovely few days in a favourite part of the world Excellent little cottage, clean and tidy BUT couldn't find a teapot or cafetiere! One small but important omission......although your manual lists a vet there is no listing for local Taxis, Dr surgery, Medical centre or hospital. ( Even The Anchor Cafe has a list of Taxis!) Unfortunately i needed these as a small puncture wound from barbed wire wouldn't stop bleeding

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We loved this cottage and its fabulous location. It has easy access to Quay and The Ham. There are several seating areas in the communal grounds to see the stunning views and take a glass of wine. It was lovely to leave the car for a few days and explore the estuary using the many boat trips available. The cottage itself is comfortable and had everything you need.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Having grown up in North Devon by the sea, there never seemed much point in travelling to South Devon. But having discovered the Dart Valley and locale, I’m hooked! There is such a wide range of activities which are well catered for. Cycling is fantastic although you’ll need an electric bike if your not used to hills. From paddle boarding to boat hire and ferries the river and sea offer a wealth of water sports. The cottage was a short walk or drive to all this and plenty of other more sedate attractions to. Facilities and easy parking with lots of surrounding open space led to a stress free holiday.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Shippon End is perfectly located for surrounding areas. Village is small yet beautiful. Ferry Boat Inn and Anchostone cafe are gems on your doorstep. House was spotlessly clean, basic but had everything you’d need. Kitchen very well equipped and bathroom modern and a good size. We also took our Labrador and it was perfect. No private garden but there are several large grass areas outside the front door, with great views over the village. The Harbour beach perfect for those dogs that like to swim. Development is pretty and quiet, silence only punctuated by local church bells which was lovely. Only criticism is that main bedroom mattress was way too firm for us. You won’t regret staying here!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We enjoyed a relaxing week at Shippon End at the end of September. The accommodation was as described and despite not having its own garden the outdoor space was lovely and we managed with our energetic dog very successfully. The bathroom and upstairs cloakroom were fresh, bright and very clean. The seating area in the living room was adequate but looked tired and close to needing to be recovered. The double bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable and it was beautifully quiet at night ensuring a good nights’ sleep.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Used Dart Valley Cottages to book this property, communication was good and payment was easy The property was comfortable, clean and well maintained, situated in the lovely village of Dittisham on the river Dart, with a short very reasonable priced boat trip to either Greenways(Agatha Christie's former residence) or the lovely town of Dartmouth so no need to drive which was a bonus. Access to the village is via a country road which is narrow in places so a need to drive carefully All in All a very pleasant peaceful Holiday experience.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969A most enjoyable break. There follows one or two suggestions. No instructions for the oven. Left hand drawer of dresser full of old flyers and post and one or two instruction leaflets. Needs sorting out. Hob is very slow to heat up and could do with replacing with an induction hob. Settees are worn out and not very comfortable. A small bedside table and lamp on the right hand side of the bed in the main bedroom would be useful.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Good location in a lovely village with an allocated parking space only a short distance from the front door. Very good instruction/info folder except contradictory info in book and on kitchen wall as to the day the bins are emptied. An unusual shaped property which is fine for two people, as we were. The second bedroom has two narrow beds which are in front of the wardrobe preventing access. It is well equipped (except that there were only four bowls which meant it wasn't really possible to use the dishwasher unless it was put on half empty all the time). We reported a fault on the TV which was dealt with promptly and a new one was provided. Only other improvement we would suggest would be some coat hooks near the front door. Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We really enjoyed our stay at Shippon End, it’s in a great location and we really enjoyed the views from the communal gardens, it’s a very peaceful little area if you want to get away from it all. As a family of 4 we felt there was enough space, the second bedroom is very small though, so better for younger kids. A can opener was the one random thing we really missed one night! All in all a lovely week away.
