Olympia, Washington
A dreamy couples luxury getaway on Puget Sound with fantastic Mount Rainier views, waterfront with easy beach access. Arrive by car or boat, our deep water buoy can accommodate up to a 50' boat.
The new, tastefully decorated, large 650 sq/ft studio with a Queen bed is surrounded by windows, has a vaulted ceiling, and has a full kitchen. Fully furnished and comfortable for stays of a few days or for several months. The super quiet heat pump will keep you warm in the winter and cool all summer. The newly added kitchen has a stovetop, oven, full-size fridge, and dishwasher and is stocked with essentials and tools, ready for long-term use or a weekend.
We know we can't leave home without our dog and know you can't either. We welcome well-behaved dogs and cats, with miles of beach to run on (and a warm hose to rinse them off). If you can't bring your dog, ours are always happy to play ball on the sand.
Time stops in the peaceful and quiet studio, lending itself to quiet days of reading and relaxation, but for when you want a little more adventure they're a lot to do:
-Two sea kayaks or paddleboards, paddles, and life jackets are available for your use. They can be launched into the water right from our seawall and are a great way to explore the shoreline. Boston Harbor is a mile and a half (as a kayaker paddles) across the sound and is a lovely place to grab lunch or a beer.
-Bring your bicycles for some wonderful road riding on quiet country roads or mountain bike Capitol forest.
-Easy access to downtown Olympia, the Olympic Peninsula, and the entire South Puget Sound.
-Visit our favorite shellfish farm (Taylor Shellfish) to pick up a dozen local oysters or try your first geoduck.
-A short drive or bike ride to the Capitol building and Evergreen State College.
-The 100,000-acre Capitol Forest is a popular recreation destination. Just a 20min drive away, there are trails for hiking, mountain biking, horses, and ATVs. A great place to take your 4-legged furry friend for a hike.
-10 min to the mall, movie theater, and grocery stores. (Trader Joes, REI, Target, and Total Wine are anchors)
Maximum of two guests, ages 21 and over. No children under 12.

Was a nice play to stay, a deck with view of the sound. Quiet , peaceful, would stay again. Greeted by host on arrival to make sure if everything was ok or needed anything.
We really appreciated the quietness of this place unlike many places we’ve stayed at- Ben was a super host and handled any questions we had. Being that we are not Teckee people we could have used more info on the usage of the video and the heat systems. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to enjoy more time here next summer.
Beautiful setting very peaceful
We enjoyed staying at the little cottage. It was very comfortable and had a nice view. It would have been nice to have some kitchen staples for cooking and at least starter coffee …there was only S&P and spray oil. The grounds around the cottage was in disarray and a hose left out which was a tripping hazard. The pathway to the beach was unnavigable due items in the way. We were unable to use the kayaks as the owners didn’t show us the equipment prior to leaving for 2 days. Communication was sporadic at best. They did have a Level 2 EV charger which we were able to use the last couple of days. It was disappointing that I can’t give it 5 stars. Just some attention to detail and tidying up would make it a great property.
Very roomy and comfortable with everything we needed. Quality furnishings. Secluded and quiet yet close to restaurants and shopping when wanted. We loved our stay.
Great size for a couple. Loved the deck and view of Mt Rainier. Had everything we needed. Quiet and away from the busy city, but still close enough to get places quickly and easily.
My stay at Athens Beach Retreat could not have been better. The studio apartment is perfection with comfortable sleigh bed, full kitchen and lots of space overlooking the water. Sitting on the deck feels like you are in a tree house with the surrounding cedar tress and foliage. A short walk through a delightful wooded area takes you to the beach. Beach access is also available through the property, but I loved walking through the woods to the beach. Although you are in a residential area, it is restful and serene. The hosts Ben and Beth are very friendly and accommodating. I plan a return stay very soon.
Location was great, views were fantastic, and the place was super. Great outing.
My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend and had a great time. The house was immaculately clean, had a lot of amenities, a beautiful view, a quiet neighborhood and the owners were very friendly. Great place to stay for some peace and quiet.
Open space, quiet with beautiful view
We had a wonderful time and wished we had stayed longer at this fabulous place. A few pantry staples would have been helpful but not a dealbreaker. If we get back this way, we will come back.
The best place I've ever stayed with the most amazing hosts.
This studio is the perfect place to stay as a Hotel alternative. The kitchen is very well appointed, with nice quiet appliances. It has a nice dining table, and very comfortable sofa and chair. The bed was very comfortable and they have plenty of storage. The lanai is good sized and has comfortable seating and a view of Mt. Rainier. The HVAC system works flawlessly and is quiet. The hosts were great to work with. Highly recommended.
Very comfortable studio cottage, perfect for a couple. Well stocked kitchen, beautiful deck, perfect for beach walks, easy driving distance to picturesque Olympia waterfront and farmers market. Host Ben was terrific, attentive to requests, and informative about the area. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
