Any Excuse - great cottage, great views, great beach access, great get away

Beautiful home. Great location to beach, dining and shopping for a great vacation. Very well stocked home with everything you could need.

By far one of the nicest homes we've ever stayed in at the Outer Banks. Super clean, obvious love for this home by the owner. You can walk to the beach. It's amazing! They have so many extra touches that we have never witnessed. For example, our daughter forgot her toothbrush. We planned to go get one until we noticed they had a package of toothbrushes in the bathroom!! Thank you! Also, the use of the beach gear was great! Plenty of chairs and the big tire beach cart was awesome.

Great and comfortable house with so many amenities! Loved the floor plan and decor. Hope to return!

Great property, right next to beach. Amenities provided were great. Comfy and clean home. Thoroughly enjoyed the swings/hammocks. Excellent location in Nags Head. Would rent property again. Loved the access to Amenities and location. About 10 minutes from Bodie Lighthouse.

An exceptional home. The home is exactly as described. An added plus is that the ground floor parking area is partial roofed so when the unexpected Outer Banks rain comes you can still sit under and enjoy the rain passing. The home is well equipped. The host communicates back to you very quickly, if you have a question or two. A very short walk to beach access.

This cottage is perfect! It is fully stocked and has everything you could need. The location is close enough to the hustle and bustle of Nags Head but far enough to just enjoy the sound of the ocean waves. There are many different outside seating options to take full advantage of a beach vacation. The outside shower with hot and cold water is a great plus as well. Overall FANTASTIC and we can’t wait to stay here again!

House was very clean and had everything we needed. Great communication from the host! We would definitely stay again. We thought the location was great to shops and restaurants. Easy and short walk to the beach.

We really appreciated attention to the small details that the owners put into Any Excuse. The house was exactly as described and very clean. The beach access was wonderful and a short walk. The public beach access was always quiet and easy for our family to find a spot. Loved the home’s outdoor shower too. We will be back next year!

This is our second time staying at Any Excuse and my family will likely continue this tradition. The house is so comfortable and well stocked, plus it's just a block from the beach. It's a great location to go either north or south to sight see.... after getting a little too sunburned the first weekend. The kitchen is particularly nice with a recent remodel and well stocked pots/pans, spices, dishes, and standard condiments. There are numerous restaurant options within a 15 min drive. The bedrooms are also very nicely setup with extra pillows, blankets/sheets and blow up beds. Even with the rip tide warnings at the beginning of week, we thoroughly enjoyed walking on the beautiful beach toward Jennette's Pier. A great place to stay!

The cottage was in an excellent location. A short walk to the beach or a short drive to the public access. Which also I had restrooms a plus. Lots of beach equipment to utilize and bikes that we rode on the path to a small local grocery store and to ice cream. Also, corn hole boards! For a little family competition. The cottage was super clean! And laid out well. Decks off every room for observation, sun exposure, screened in or swinging on the hammocks to enjoy a morning coffee or evening wind down. The beds were very comfortable and plenty of linens and towels. We were close to Fish heads, one of our favorite restaurants and manual for the lost colony outdoor theater. And Bodie Island lighthouse, which is a fun climb. Most Definitely a cottage, we would stay at again.

The house was well stocked with beach gear, bikes, etc. Lots of beach towels to use and a beach buggy were especially appreciated. Proximity to public beach access in an area that is not densely populated provided to opportunity to spread out on the beach we were hoping for. We would book this house again!

This property delivers on all fronts! The location is great - a block from the beach, and a Rescue station with bathrooms, right at the public access. Everything is provided, from linens to beach umbrella, wagon and chairs. It was impeccably clean, and the four decks provided lots of personal space. A wonderful place to celebrate our 30th anniversary! We will definitely be back!

Great location across from public beach access. Very clean and well stocked kitchen and bathroom supplies, as well as beach towels and equipment. Nice laundry room. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Maybe May wasn't the best time to visit, but despite the weather, the house was great. It was spotless, well-equipped, and a great place to relax. Public access to the beach was across the street and a short distance down. Would consider it again, though maybe picking a better weekend.
