Andalusian house at Malaga, terrace, garden, pool, BBQ

We enjoyed this cottage. It is very comfortable for two people. It rained during our stay so we did not use the pool or tennis court but they looked great. The house is separate from the main house and very quiet and private. We are here during November and the heating worked well. We have stayed at many vrbo units and I have to say that our hosts were the best we have encountered. They were very easy to contact, they answered very quickly and even gave us rides when needed because we were unable to rent a vehicle. Uber is also very responsive to this location, and will meet you just outside of the gate. The driveway is very long but a pleasant walk (and we are in our 70s). It was very quick to the central city. The grounds are attractive and there are multiple spots to hang out and enjoy the quiet rural atmosphere of this very relaxing location.

It was a wonderful place to stay and the hosts were extremely helpful and friendly. We feel as if we've made good friends with the family and very much look forward to our second stay with them from 17-31 March. 5 star people and 5 star venue.

My husband and I and one of our sons stayed at Finca Santa Matilde in early October. The house was exactly as advertised, private and separate from the family house, and very clean with everything we needed. Best of all was the warm welcome and helpfulness of our hosts, Juan Carlos, who greeted us, and Matilde, who was so knowledgeable and generous with suggestions. Juan Carlos met us near Pedregalejo Beach to lead the way. My husband was clearly a little rusty driving a standard and Juan Carlos was kind enough to direct us to the grocery via the easiest route and wait for us to pick up a few things. The beach, highway, Malaga, and nearby villages were all easily accessible with our car, but there’s also a reliable bus from Malaga that stops within walking distance, partly uphill. We slept well and every morning we had breakfast outside with a beautiful postcard view of the small valley and surrounding hills. We had the pool to ourselves every day. Every evening we parked at nearby Pedregalejo Beach to look at the sunset and have dinner. There are many beachside restaurants and chiringuitos from which to choose. The first night we were tired, so we just had camperos and drinks at Mafalda. Simple, very reasonable and fast. We took every one of Matilde’s suggestions for restaurants and day trips and were never disappointed. We were pretty sure upon arrival that we’d have a great stay, and we did. Thank you, Matilde and Juan Carlos!

Tucked away in mountains North of Malaga. Nice and quiet. Good facilities, and the pool was great. the hosts were very friendly and helpful.

Superb location with all the benefits of being in the country yet within reach of town.

This property is as described. Clean and well equipped. The hospitality and helpfulness of the hosts make the stay even better. Unless you are very fit “hikers” you will need a car as the property is on the outskirts of a village up a very steep track. This does make it all the more tranquil. Would recommend

I really enjoyed my stay here. Matilde and Juan Carlos were so helpful and kind. They went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was enjoyable. The location is ideal. You feel in the country - surrounded by nature - and are very close to Málaga. I didn't even hire a car - it is possible to get the 34 bus, which goes from the city centre, to el Palo (the closest beach and nice reasonably priced restaurants) to La Mosca (the house) It is possible to walk to el Palo from the house also. (although I usually got the bus back home to avoid walking up the hill! ?) I look forward to returning again soon.

Wonderfully peaceful location with mountain behind and yet not far by car or bus to Malaga if you can tear yourself away from the pool, tennis court, and basketball. There is plenty of seating areas, outside dining, and sun loungers in a choice of sun or shade. Whilst the pool was a little too cold for us to use during our stay, in the height of summer this would not doubt be a haven in the heat of the day. Very friendly and helpful owner.
