Town: The picturesque village of Belton lies in beautiful Leicestershire countryside and has a pub with award-winning restaurant and a shop. More facilities can be found close by in Shepshed, which was mentioned in the Domesday Book, with its individual shops, cafés and pubs, and many ancient buildings dating back to the 17th century. The area offers many wonderful walks of varying distances, adventurous cycle routes, horse riding, fishing, numerous watersports and off-road driving experiences in a variety of vehicles. The National Forest area also provides many museums, country houses and gardens, fairs and festivals, as well as riverside regattas, concerts and theatre performances. Within an hour’s drive are the Peak District National Park, Chatsworth House and racing at Uttoxeter. A wonderful area for a memorable holiday at any time of year.
