We had problems finding the cottage on first arrival. I had spoken to the owner the day before and was told to take the first right turn after Law Lane. He clearly told me that it would look like a drive and not a proper road, which yes it did but we needed the second turning and not the first after Law Lane. The property owner told us to park outside number 7 but upon arrival none of the cottages were numbered. I then knocked on a neighbours door who kindly showed us a very dull black number 7. He also added that this happens a lot and he is always pointing it out to the owner that a white number 7 would make life easier all round. I also rang the owners farther who although kindly came to help us find the cottage said he could not help us with anything else as he does not get involved. Once we were inside the cottage we had no instructions on how to work the heating and hot water. It being February and snow forcast we were rather worried!! The owner had already told me he would be unavailable to contact all week and his father with no knowledge about the property we were getting very cold and wondering what to do!! Luckily for us we had life experience!! We also found it hard work to get more Cole from the bunker. Never before had we come across radiators and towel rail that only work when you light the Cole fire. Anybody with no Cole fire lighting experience would of been in big trouble!! Their was also no guest book so we were unable to pass any of our comments on.
