Now for the finer details:

You’ll be less than a block to the sand, where you often have the beach completely to yourself. The Bay beckons you with early morning beach walks, incredible sunset views and exceptional bird and sea life. The tide pools are a delight for small kids.

The newly and beautifully renovated Sole Cottage is the perfect spot for 3-4 friends, a small family or a couple who are seeking a quiet, tranquil, art-filled, unique Jersey shore experience. This 800 square foot space holds three small bedrooms and an open flow living room and kitchen.

The sun filled main living space has a new oversized West Elm sectional, a new 55” “The Frame” Ultra HD 4K flatscreen smart TV, and a warming electric fireplace. A small built-in mudroom nook holds a handcrafted bench, shelf and hooks to ensure you can drop and go or pick-up and go as needed. Vintage records, a record player and assorted instruments set you up for the daily music session.

Relax on the expansive back deck - which spans the entire length of the house - with its comfy lounge furniture and large table, grilling up your catch of the day on the gas grill. Take a nap in the hammock. Go to the beach and come back to take a hot (or cold!) shower gazing up at the trees in our handmade outdoor shower.

The entire space is designed for play and relaxation with puzzles, games, curated books and yoga and meditation amenities. A special “maker space” (the third bedroom) holds art materials for your use. Write a postcard, paint, draw, color or take time for journaling. A kayak lets you explore the Bay.

The fully-stocked, eat-in kitchen has everything you need to cook a big meal together and relax. Start your morning at the built-in coffee and tea nook with its Ninja, French press, electric kettle and assorted teas and coffee. The gas stove with griddle, French door refrigerator with ice maker, and dishwasher make cooking easeful. Cookbooks, cookware, tools, spices, cocktail amenities and microwave, blender, crockpot, mixer and toaster round out the offerings.

The quaint spa-like bathroom has a soaking tub and rain shower. Beautiful details abound - a turn-of-the-century antique door, handmade tile and a marble top vanity. Toiletry essentials are provided, including locally Cape May made Shore Soaps. Just outside the bathroom is a washer and dryer.

Sole Cottage has three small bedrooms with vintage touches and adorned with artwork by small and local artists:

The main bedroom, filled with natural light, holds a queen bed, organic mattress and hypoallergenic down-alternative pillows. An antique writing desk and closet give you the space to settle and connect in.

The second bedroom has a full bed tucked into a lovely little nook with books and art. It offers an organic memory foam mattress and hypoallergenic down-alternative pillows. A small nook holds a dresser and hooks.

The third and smallest bedroom we call the Maker Space. Custom stained glass above the door, a unique curved wall, a vintage writing desk and numerous art supplies make this room so unique. There is a twin daybed with storage underneath in beautiful rattan containers, and hooks as well.

Free and fast WiFi is available throughout the cottage, as is Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney+. The outside of this house does have surveillance at the front door only, through an Arlo camera.

Please note that our cottage is less than a block to the Bay, not the ocean. The ocean is 15 minutes away. The Bay has dramatic tidal shifts, and at low tide the water goes out far. This makes for fun tide pools for kids but not the best swimming for teens or adults.

A charming little cottage, super walkable to the bay - perfect for nature walks and adventuring. The place has absolutely everything you need and Villas (a place we never explored before) is a mix of locals and seasonal rentals.

We loved our five-night stay at Sole Cottage! Stacey and Dan provided a peaceful, comfortable and thoughtfully designed home that was just what we needed for our family vacation. Stacey was quick to respond to any of our questions and made sure we felt very welcome. Beautiful bayside sunsets just a block away and the nearby store selling secondhand art supplies was a great find. Would love to come back!

Very well kept and few blocks to the beach. Perfectly situated close to tourist attractions and still have space from the crowds. Beach has great sunsets without the crowds.

My husband and I had an unforgettable experience at Sole Cottage. I'm picky when it comes to rentals and was drawn in by the pictures. Stacey's design style is nothing short of impeccable and really highlights the historic character of the house. I loved how local businesses were highlighted (Fleck's Ice Cream, Seashore Flower Farm, Shore Soaps). There are interesting books everywhere, yet the house doesn't feel cluttered at all and is really clean. Pets aren't allowed, which is great for someone like me with allergies. We didn't spend any time in the backyard, as we were delighting in soaking up the sun on the couch. The beach is just down the street and great for peaceful walks. The first time we went (on a weekday), we hardly saw anyone. When we went on Saturday, there were lots of families enjoying the sunset. Although Cape May is only a 10-15 minute drive away, I felt like Villas had everything we needed for the relaxing vacation we were seeking. Communication with Stacey was great throughout and I can tell she is a genuinely thoughtful person who wants guests to enjoy themselves. The guest guidebook (she sent after booking and a printed copy in the house) and the binder with instructions to all the appliances were really helpful. The only downside is parking on the street (though parking right in front of the house was never a problem), just because we're used to parking in a driveway, but that would certainly not stop me from staying at Sole Cottage in the future.

We had a fantastic stay at Sole Cottage with our family of 4. The house had everything we needed and was so cozy and welcoming. We loved being able to walk down the street to the bay to enjoy the beach during the daytime and watch the gorgeous sunsets at night. The house was close enough to so many things that our family enjoyed - Cape May Zoo, downtown Cape May where we enjoyed shopping and the restaurants and we even ventured over to Wildwood one night to take our kids to the amusement park on the boardwalk. The hosts were very easy to get in touch with and answered any questions we had very promptly. Thank you for a great place to stay and make memories for our family!

RE:the space - the owners did such a LOVELY job with this renovation. So quaint... in truth, made me want one just like it! KUDOS to them for a job very well done. RE:the location - so cool to be so close to the bay, and the SUNSETS! Worth the cost of admission alone. Cape May and exploring all of it's surroundings were all within an easy drive. RE:the hosts - can't say enough kind things about the overall effort. Any questions not answered in the advance info given (via the awesome GUIDEBOOK provided both on site and electronically) was happily answered via text/a phone call. This made our enjoyment of our time in a new place (Cape May extended) all the more successful! Honestly I don't know IF we would have had such a great experience if it weren't for the great info/help provided by our hosts! AS WELL...we had a bump at the end of our stay which involved a flub on our end of things at check out! Our hosts were sooooo gracious and easy to work with to get things ammended. I can with 100% confidence recommend staying at Sole Cottage to anyone who is considering it! LOVED IT!

This beautiful home is immaculate and charming. It leaves you feel completely at home! Besides it's well designed layout, it has a lot of amenities available for use. There's plenty of good old fashion fun such as board games, puzzles, record player, musical instruments, and art supplies. It includes everyday day items one typically uses in the kitchen and bathroom for single use. The Sole Cottage guide has a lot of really great places to visit, and we enjoyed visiting several locations during our short visit. The bay is a short walk away and a beautiful place to visit especially in the morning! Nice and quite neighborhood. Restaurants, shops, and great places to visit are just a short drive away, most places we visited were within about 10-20 minute drive. Stacey and Dan are wonderful hosts! Stacey reached out on a daily basis to ensure all our needs were met and even offered us an early check in! She was prompt in responding to all communication. Looking forward to a return stay at Sole Cottage! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice quiet getaway!
