Stayed Oct 22, 2025Rosecroft cottage provided a central base for the holiday. Scarborough for the kids, Whitby bay for a more leisurely outing for thd adults snd York for everybody to enjoy. The cottage has a wonderful garden and the kitchrn has everything needed. The beds were very comfortable and bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Pickering is a quiet place with a good food and a small German supermarket. All in all, a nice place for a rest.

Stayed Sep 23, 2025Rose Croft is well situated for a short walk into Pickering town centre, and has loads of room inside the cottage and a large secluded back garden, which is excellent for dogs and/or children. There is a playpark directly opposite the cottage which the kids loved. Beds were clean and very comfortable, and the cottage was well equipped, including a good selection of games for the kids and adults. It would have been a better experience if a folder with instructions for the cottage were available. Slight issue with the mugs as they were all stained and we had to go out and buy some more, also the kitchen tap soaked us every time we used it! The hot water/heating went off a couple of days before we left and we couldn't get it to come back on. Contacted cottages.com and despite them saying (via their online chat system) that they would contact the owners and get it fixed, no one came out to fix it and they never contacted us via the email or phone details we left.

Stayed Sep 17, 2025What a great welcome on a cold February day to walk into Rose Cottage which was lovely and warm. The cottage’s got everything you could want from an air fryer to a dishwasher with tablets. The log fire was a bonus and extra logs could be bought locally at the Cooperative.Ideally situated a seven minute walk into the centre of Pickering to some wonderful bakers.Only 40 minutes to the coast and also to York the grandchildren loved the Railway Museum (no charge) and walking the city walls (no charge)With parking outside the front door with no charge what more could you want. Will we be back, You bet ya.

Stayed Mar 22, 2025What a brilliant cottage. Great location, spotlessly clean, and a kitchen better equipped than mine at home! Beds comfortable and bathroom towels soft and fluffy. The dogs loved the enclosed garden. The gardeners came and tidied up the fallen apples. No dog poo in the garden - so we made sure we didn't leave any either. A few starters - coffee, tea and sugar, biscuits and even toys for the dogs! Parking was never a problem, although sometimes not directly outside, although there were some nearby road no waiting (for road works), so a local resident said it was usually easier. Easy 5 min walk into Pickering high street, and 10 minutes to NY Moors railway.
