Great stay
Great little cottage for a couple to stay in. Has all the amenities you will need. Great and fast communication with host. This is located perfectly in the middle of multiple great lakeshore towns but seems like there is always some new restaurant, wine or brewery to try. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.
We really enjoyed our time in Union Pier as neither of us had been there before. It was absolutely beautiful and peaceful. When I read about this cabin & looked over the pics, I was under the impression we would have more privacy. There are cabins and houses surrounding the property with people coming and going, but it wasn't terrible, just not my expectation. The cabin was very close to a deli, a market and bakery but opening and closing times for these businesses were odd. The golf cart, bike rental shop appeared to stay closed the entire time we were there. A few of the dishes we used were not 100% clean but I would've washed them before using regardless. There was no dishwasher in this cabin. The air conditioning is one single window unit for the entire one bedroom cabin. The beaches were beautiful and the town was too. We loved the screened in front porch. Overall we had a wonderful time & will definitely be back, but will try to find something a little nicer for the cost on our next trip.
First of all, It has strategic location with access to many fun places. Great restaurants, beaches, breweries and wineries. Unit itself is very pleasant and compact, but providing all necessary functionality. It’s a perfect get-away place.
It's a nice, cozy spot. Wood burning fire place, coffee shop and bakery in walking distance, beach a few blocks away. Very nice.
The location is great, close to the beach, restaurants, breweries and parks. The place was clean and comfortable. I'd stay here again.
Great getaway and fantastic location. Loved that we could relax and enjoy a short walk to get coffee or a quick drink.
We spent a long weekend at the cottage and it was perfect. The neighborhood is nice and quiet, wonderful bakery within walking distance as well as corner store to pick up those supplies you may have forgotten. Cottage #5 is set by itself which was nice, although there wasn't anyone else in any other cottage until the weekend. The firepit is a nice addition and we were able to use it for a couple of night due to the great weather. Loved the screened in porch. The only reason for the four stars is the musty smell that hits you when you open the door, it seems to dissipate if you can leave the door open and we ran the dehumidifier the entire time, emptying it quite a few times.
We enjoyed our week here very much. The cottage is small but well appointed with a surprising amount of storage space. Very close to the beach yet on a quiet street with little noise. Definitely would like to return.
I will forever treasure my experience here—it was the perfect little escape out of the city for me to relax and clear my mind. The location is perfect -- close to the lake, to Black Currant Bakehouse, and a short driving distance to all the towns. They also had a ton of utilities for cooking along with blankets, games, etc. The only cons I experienced were the bugs. Of course, you're in nature, but when I checked in there were a couple of dead bugs I found and throughout my stay there were quite a few crawlers. There were also a couple of small stains on the couch/blankets. But overall, it was amazing and I'd recommend staying here - you can't beat the cute porch, location, and Jason and Erica were so communicative. I will be back!
We wanted an escape from the city for a weekend and this cottage was great. Super comfy bed and living room furniture too. We enjoyed the wood burning fireplace each evening as we sipped cocktails and played games on the fold out table. Union Pier is one of our favorite places to visit for a quick get away from Chicago. We did take away from The Whistle Stop Cafe (the best coffee and food) and The Stray Dog. Looking forward to returning when weather is better and restaurants are open for dining again!
