A sweeping crescent of golden sand is within a 300-metre stroll, and the unspoiled village has two pubs and a fish and chip shop. The sheltered beach is perfect for building sandcastles, and a favourite for water sports enthusiasts of all ages. Admire the colourful fishing boats in the harbour where fishermen return with catchesof wild salmon. Keen walkers can enjoy some of the finest routes in the country on the glorious Northumberland Coast Path, which begins in Beadnell and continues on towards Bamburgh Castle. Catch a boat from Seahouses (1.5 miles) to the Farne Islands, home to puffins, terns and a large colony of seals. Visit Bamburgh (5 miles) to see its magnificent castle and the Grace Darling Museum.
