Ashville, New York
Nestled in the secluded bay of Woodlawn on the North end of the lake is this 5 bedroom, 2 full bath charmer. With 125 ft of lakefrontage, there is plenty of room for the entire family. Lovely screened lakeside porch allow for long evenings in the calming Chautauqua Lake air. Plenty of parking, cable tv and even wireless internet allow you to still be connected to the 'outside' world(that is if you want to be found). Dock is available for renters use. Has a ladder at the end to go down into the water to swim.(approx. 4ft water depth. Can vary depending on climate and weather) Has a sandy bottom.
Great Lake front location. Well supplied kitchen. Comfortable family vacation.
This was a great place to stay for a long needed relaxing week. The house is a much older home but was very clean and homey. We had dock space for our boats but unfortunately boat traffic isnt ideal for leaving your boat tied/moored because of crazy wakes from wake boats . P.S. the online pictures dont do this property justice.
Nice home. Great front porch. Dock could handle my boat no problem. Beds comfortable. I would definitely rent again.
Nice quiet place to say by the lake
We had a wonderful stay. The house was perfect for our needs. The access to the lake was super. Our grandchildren loved the fishing every day. There is a Keurig coffee machine and also a regular coffee machine. Bring plenty of paper plates and bowls because most of the dishes can not go in the microwave. The screened in porch was a plus.. Would definitely return.
They had trouble with the septic system before we got there. I think they must of had a toilet over flow because the rugs in the downstairs bathroom smelt pretty bad. We had to clean the refrigerator before before we put anything in it. It was gross. Other then that, we had a great time
We had a very good experience at the cottage. The screened in front porch is such a bonus. The bedrooms were all on the second floor and were good size. Beds comfortable. Cable and internet excellent. Having to use extension cords out of the light sockets in the back bedrooms should be eliminated. I would rent this cottage again.
We were at the lake to celebrate my father's 90th birthday and a few special anniversaries. We had 10 people staying very comfortably and there is room for more! The cottage is charming and lovingly maintained. There are lovely dishes in the dining cabinets and ample kitchen supplies-pots, pans, utensils, etc. A nice stereo in the dining room supplied our music and the tv was helpful for our rain day. We enjoyed many games around the table. THe lakeside porch and the lake views are the obvious stars of this property, as well as the quiet, family location. The porch is perfect with rockers and wooden porch furniture, pretty blue cushions and commanding views. We sat there early morning and late into the night, just listening to the water lap the dock and the shore. There is a long dock with a bench at the end for sitting and enjoying the lake. A ladder at the end, where the water is 3 or 4' deep, allows easy entry to the lake. The kids and young adults enjoyed floating in the lake and cooling off in the heat. Although there are some very effective ceiling fans in the living room and lakeside bedrooms, if your forecast is for heat, consider bringing a few of your own with some extension cords. We would most definitely stay here again and all the people who visited us during the week loved the location and the house.
Beautiful location, quiet street and wonderful views of the lake. The large front porch with views of the lake is where we spent a large portion of our time! Plenty of room for entire family (6 adults and 2 teens).
The owners have kept much of the historical charm of this turn of the century Chatauqua Lake summer home. When there was a mechanical issue (beyond their control) they were extremely responsive and took care of the issue immediately. The kitchen appliances and bathrooms (although modern) would benefit from updating. There are plenty of pots, pans, utensils, The matresses are all newer and very comfortable. Three of the bedrooms only have electical plugs in the ceiling light socket so extension cords were necessary to plug in fans and phones (etc) which our teens could not go without. We loved the screened porch, the large yard (especially the rock FROG), and the dock (we rented a pontoon boat). And we had a wonderfully relaxing old fashioned family vacation.
