Nice place on a country lane. Very clean and in a quiet position. Would recommend.Short drive to Hexham which has a good selection of food and pubs. Wetherspoons good value some others are expensive. The local pub is a mile away down a country lane without a path, not good for walking, we only tried it once and drove after that. We only eaten there twice, the poached fish was excellent but the steak pie was not!

We greatly enjoyed our weeks stay at the Gin Gang. It is an excellent base for walking. We walked along parts of the Hadrian's Wall path, the Tyne Trail and at Kielder Water. The cottage was comfortable and had all the amenities we could wish for. We hope to go back there to do some more walking in the area.

    |It was a lovely place to stay. Very quiet and the view from the cottage over looked Hexham. The week we stayed was the last Bank holiday and was very cold. The cottage was very clean and warm , apart from the bathroom. We could not see any way of putting on the bathroon towel rail. It would have been nice to have that come on to dry the towels if only for a couple of hours in the morning and night. The shower curtain did not stop water from going on the floor and we tried so hard to be careful but we always had to mop up afterwards and have the window open which in turn made it cold. Can I suggest the owners try the bathroom out themselves so they can see & appreciate the problems and can then resolve them with first hand knowledge. The bedroom was very large but the office lights took away a feel good factor. These are small problems that once solved would make it brilliant place to stay. Our only other problem was the TV which was so hard to get a signal on. If you walked past it you lost it again. Surely this could also be resolved. We did enjoy our stay here and this would not put us off staying here again. Two local places to not miss is Corbridge and Haydon Bridge but we covered this part of Northumberland very well. We would recomend going to Dipton Mill Inn the closest pub to the cottage. Food is good and please try their ice cream. Their double ginger and rum & raisen were to die for. A really great place for a week away. Well-equipped, warm and spacious, in great surroundings, it was ideal for our needs. A welcome bottle of wine too! Covid-19 precautions were very reassuring. The only reason it didn't get 10 is that we found the bed rather hard, though I know some people prefer it so. Thoroughly recommended. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo
