Wraparound Balcony ~ Condo Remodel Jan-Feb 2026

Excessive security codes some of which didnt work. At one point, I was locked out four times. Charged 190 for transportation we did not use. Music from next door property was loud and disruptive. There was no one on site to help us with any problems.The condo itself was very nice and comfortable, but we would not stay in this location again!

So many great restaurants to enjoy! Captain Dave's is a favorite and I highly recommend McGuire's Irish Pub at the very west end of Destin! Quite an experience! Westwinds is just a beautiful property and the pool is so relaxing to spend time at. Great walks along the beach; especially to the east past the last tall condo building. We saw many sand crabs during the day watching us and then ducking back into their holes.

Overall the condo is great. The only complaint we have was the mattress in the master bedroom. It is so worn out and unsupportive that it is like sleeping in a hammock and we are just average size people with my wife weighing about 135 pounds and myself at about 180 pounds. We really weren’t able to get a good nights sleep any of the nights that we stayed there because it was so uncomfortable, which is disappointing for the amount of money that we paid for the room. It was bad enough that we would not stay there again, when you’re on vacation at the beach the last thing you want is to not be able to get a good nights sleep. Hopefully the owners will spend the money and update the mattress because it really was awful.

Love the property itself & the ocean view of this condo. Compared to others we've stayed at, I feel this condo could really use an overall updating.

Reviewer Comments: This is our 5th consecutive year staying at Westwinds and have rented 1-3 bedroom units. I would rate this unit as sufficient compared to the others we have stayed at. First of all, they were rapidly cleaning the room 30 minutes before checkin and did not finish timely so we were delayed check in by 25 minutes. We entered into a rapid cleaned condo and it was evident. The unit is average but needs significant TLC in all rooms. Lightbulbs were out, furniture off rails so we had to carefully open drawers so they don’t fall on our feet, hangers were fixed in place so it was inconvenient to hang and remove clothes, broken beach chairs, squeaky mattresses and sofa, and worst of all, the washer had mold. We attempted to clean with Clorox wipes but it was caked on. Reluctantly we had to use to wash our clothes.

Pool is perfect temp. sunset views are unparalleled. Quiet. Safe. Would be nice to have some of the newer electric outlets with the built in USB plug in options for A, B, C options. Clean. nice appliances.

This property is stunning! The views are perfect! It’s super clean, close to everything but far enough to not be crowded. This is by far the best place we have stayed at. I would 10/10 recommend this property!
