We really enjoyed our stay at Whale Watch. This was our fifth time staying at Durant Station. This condo along with the other two have all been wonderful experiences. The views are beautiful and sunsets are breathtaking. It is very well equipped with everything you need for a pleasant stay. We loved waking up in the morning, and the first thing we saw was the blue ocean waves. We will definitely be back!

We love staying on Hatteras Island in May and September/October. We don't need a boardwalk or exciting activities. We only want to enjoy the beach.

Us seniors totally enjoyed our stay. Access to the beach was easy. The pool was wonderful. But the view was the best.

Condo is beautiful and the view of the ocean is great. The management is not so great. I called them the the day before I was to check in and let them know I wouldn’t be there until the following day after hours. The person I spoke with said it was no problem and that we would need to pick up out keys and packet in the bins outside of the office. I received an email the following day that said I needed a code for the lock on the condo and provided the code. I called the rental office and the person I spoke with said the lock was changed and to use the code and our welcome packet would be inside the condo. We arrived at the condo at 11:30 pm and the code for the lock did not work. We tried several times with no luck. It was cold that night and very windy so we were freezing and getting very frustrated as we were also pretty tired. I called the after hours number I had for the office and they tried to walk us through to get the lock to open and again with no luck. The person I spoke with called someone from maintenance. By this time it was well after midnight so it took him a few minutes to get there. He couldn’t open the door either. He made a couple of trips to the office and then finally got the door open. It was 2 am when we got into the condo. The guy from maintenance was polite and helped up get our luggage and things into the condo. We went to the rental office the next day to make sure they were aware of what happened. The lady we spoke with said she would make sure the manager knew. Two days later we were out for the day and came back to the condo in the evening to find the lock had been changed. We were not contacted by anyone to let us know that they were going to change the lock and they were even inside our condo with no notice and no one there. We thought sure we were going to be locked out again. Thankfully I remembered the code the company had sent in that email as it was the code to get in. Aren’t you supposed to notify tenants if you are going to be entering their rental? We were there for 6 days and management didn’t even attempt to contacts us to offer an apology or anything. As I said it is a beautiful condo and great location but with that kind of management I’ll never stay there again.
