Whirlaway Loft - Heart of Downtown/NuLu

This loft was in a really great location, and had everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Very practical, but keep in mind there isn't much privacy if you have both rooms occupied, and the noise carries through the walls, so just something to be aware of. Overall, a very comfortable and nice stay.

The property was nice, but we wouldn't stay there again. Location is convenient but not as centrally located as the description would suggest. The entrance is very strange as you have to travel down 2 long hallways. There is a lot of deferred maintenance that distracts from the stay, including a broken mirror door in one bedroom. Our major complaints include the excessive noise from the adjoining property due to the apparent lack of insulation between the properties, the open ceiling above the bedroom which exposed us to excessive noise from the air handler, small size of the second bedroom, and the lack of any place to put luggage except the floor in that same bedroom. Beds were comfortable but very low to the ground.

Great location and nice place. Needs some “tlc” at this point (several light bulbs didn’t work, pull-out couch is broken, things of that such) but we enjoyed our stay and the location.

Cool place, good location, trip got cut short because of weather. Host graciously refunded proration of our booking frees which was appreciated.

The loft is a cool space and had all the amenities and comforts listed. Beds were super comfortable with clean fresh cozy bedding. The location is within walking distance to the Yum center, Jimmy John’s, wild eggs and the riverfront area. I’d recommend arriving in the daylight as the building entrance was hard to spot and the hallways felt a bit dark arriving alone at night.

Sean the owner was great to work with. The apartment is spacious and clean. The location is super convenient.

Great location, and amazing host. Was a great space for my crew and i on a work trip. Shared wall lacking insulation so we could hear the neighbors pretty easy buy not an issue with us at all. Overall great expierience and will be back again!

Lovely place to stay.

We enjoyed our stay at Whirlaway Loft. The location is great. It's a short walk to Old Forester and Repeal and just a little further to Louisville Slugger and the Frazier Museum. Parking is really convenient. The building is older, so there were a few small issues encountered. Sean was extremely responsive, though. The interior is clean and the decorations were nice. It took us a minute to get used to no ceilings separating rooms. Would stay here again for convenience.

We stayed here when we had our first trip planned to Churchill Downs. Before we headed downtown we noticed the air kicked off and the touch screen thermostat in the hallway went black. I text the host about it because it was 98 degrees outside and before we got back from downtown Sean had the AC fixed and cool inside! He sent us a text that it was back on and apologized for the inconvenience. It didn't inconvenience us in anyway because we were in town anyway but we were very impressed with the speed of getting it fixed. The pictures of the apartment were exactly as the apartment. It was clean and beautiful. He had all the towels, toiletries, pans, utensils, coffee and games at your convenience. We would definitely stay again!

This loft is the perfect location for those coming to Louisville to experience the truly diverse vibe. Our VRBO was in the heart of so many dining, drinking and entertainment options within walking range. At the same time, a building and courtyard in front of our loft added great noise insulation. Very convenient parking is available at no cost. The loft itself is very welcoming and comfortable. Everything needed is there and the beds are comfy (especially after a guided bourbon tour). Our host was exceptional in his communications and support. This stay earns 20 stars on a 10-point scale!!!

The apartment is a two floor apartment. It was very secure and easy walking distance from Whiskey Row and other attractions in downtown Louisville. Our property manager was very responsive and gave us clear instructions on how to access the accommodation. Overall excellent experience!

The property felt very safe, tucked in a nook with door codes. They even have a covered parking space close by. The accommodations were comfortable and conveniently located. We would recommend this place for girls trip, friends or family.

Lots of room in this 2-bedroom loft. Location is good—about 2 blocks from main Louisville sites. Parking is conveniently provided in the parking garage next door. Place is exactly as pictured. Beds were comfortable; one bedroom had a closet but no dresser. Bathrooms are on the smaller side but serviceable.Kitchen area is adequately stocked with pots, pans, utensils, etc. We did note that no toaster is provided.It looked overall quite clean. The floors looked a little dusty when we arrived, but when I reached out to owner, he was very concerned about this and sent someone over immediately to take care of it.Of note, this is a loft and the ceilings above are completely open with no division between the rooms, so sounds inside carry throughout.Overall, it was a great place to stay and I recommend it.

We really enjoyed our stay at the loft. Nice, secure location. Only drawback is some noise from next-door unit guests. That is not a deal-breaker. Will stay again if we return to Louisville.

I think if I looked where I wanted to stay in Louisville and dropped a pin in the map, it would be right here. It's walking distance to some excellent food and central to many of the Louisville distilleries. Bodeguita de Mima and Rabbit Hole were family favorites in town. It was also close enough to hike Bernheim, visit Churchill Downs, and head up to KY Artisan Distillery without spending the day in a car.The property was as described, central and clean, with an updated historic charm. The owner was accommodating and quickly responded when I had a question. On top of that, the checkout request was literally 1 item instead of a list. 5/5. Will come back. Thank you for an awesome stay.

The place was great!

My friends and I were in Louisville to explore the downtown area. The loft had plenty of room for all of us!

The location of this loft was absolutely ideal for easy access to the Bourbon Distilleries. The space itself was a great size and comfortable. However, there were a few minor issues that detracted from the overall experience. Noise levels could vary depending on the occupants of the adjacent unit, as it occasionally got loud. Additionally, the main bathroom shower could have been cleaned more thoroughly upon our arrival. We found a used washcloth left behind. The oven seemed to be malfunctioning. The door wouldn't close completely or heat above 275°. Lastly, the flickering lights were a bit bothersome. Despite these small issues, our overall experience was positive. We would stay again. loft for its prime location and spacious layout.

Whirl away was on a great location for walking distance to several distilleries and great restaurants. Our host made several recommendations for us and they were outstanding! The loft was equipped with all the comforts of home! We definitely enjoyed our stay! Highly recommend!!

The loft was just as advertised, if not better. Stocked with plenty of amenities and extras. Walking distance to great restaurants and activities downtown. Check-in process takes a minute to navigate but instructions are more than sufficient if followed. Sean was quick to respond and checked on us multiple times. Will definitely stay again on next trip to Louisville!
