A comfortable two-bedroom condo in the Carnelian Woods community — walking distance to Lake Tahoe and an easy drive to both Palisades Tahoe and Northstar. Great setup for families or a small group.
What's included:

Walk to Lake Tahoe
Community pool, hot tub, sauna & tennis courts
Arcade / clubhouse on site
Ski lockers & gear storage
In-unit washer & dryer
Pack 'n Play + booster seat
Beach towels + Smart TVs throughout
Pet friendly

Sleeping setup:

Queen bed in bedroom 1
Queen bed in bedroom 2
Queen sofa bed in the living area
Rollaway bed available (stored in the upstairs bedroom closet — rolls right out into the main loft area, which makes a great little sleep nook or hangout space for kids)
Pack 'n Play for little ones

Full kitchen stocked for real cooking — not just the basics. In-unit washer and dryer, beach towels, multiple Smart TVs, and fast WiFi throughout. The complex is quiet and family-friendly, with the pool, hot tub, sauna, tennis courts, and arcade lodge all steps away.

About the loft: The main loft is a great hangout space and works perfectly as a sleeping area with the rollaway. The upstairs bedroom has a second loft space — the ladder has been removed and we ask that guests not attempt to access it. We really mean this one. It's not safe without the ladder and any wall damage will be charged to the booking.

A few things to know: Small water heater — if you're a group, space out your showers. No AC (Tahoe summers rarely need it). The closest beach to Carnelian Woods is a pebble beach — not sandy, but genuinely lovely. BYO rackets for the tennis courts.
Winter heads up: Tahoe weather moves fast — 4WD/AWD or chains are often required during storms. Please plan accordingly.

Getting around:

CB's Bistro: 2 min drive / 15 min walk
Waterman's Cafe: 2 min drive / 13 min walk
Garwoods: 2 min drive
Tahoe City: 11 min · Kings Beach: 8 min · Truckee: 25 min
Northstar: 15 min · Palisades: 23 min · Diamond Peak: 23 min · Homewood: 21 min

All times reflect good weather and no traffic — allow extra on powder days.
Access: Full access to the condo, ski storage, open parking (guest tags provided), and all community amenities — pool (seasonal), hot tub, sauna, tennis courts, and the arcade lodge. ID verification and damage waiver required through Truvi prior to arrival.

This place was great for our young family. Dog beach nearby is perfect for pet lovers. Trail in the backyard and pool amenities were great!

The location and complex were perfect for our family with teens. The pool, hot tub, and proximity to the lake and activities made for a great vacation. We enjoyed walking to the lakeside cafe for coffee each morning and hiking along the adjacent trails. The condo was clean and large enough for our family of five. The owner was responsive, and the check-in and check-out processes were easy. The only feedback we'd give was around the comfort of the condo. The beds were pretty uncomfortable. I think upgrading those would improve the experience.

The good:Host was great at communication and responded quickly whenever needed and was always helpful. The location is great, walking distance to a little coffee shop kayak rental place, breakfast place, and a dog friendly pretty rocky beach. Good location that is very close to the lake. The lodge is nice with a nice pool and fun games. The bad: We had a bad smell in the kitchen, took the garbage out and it wasn't that, then discovered a dead mouse in a cabinet. Realized the bathroom had what looks like is a mouse trap too.I realize we are in the mountains but we have a family cabin in Utah too, have stayed other places in Tahoe, and Idaho, Montana, etc. And never had a mouse problem. Maybe rather than traps and exterminator may need to routinely come? The host apologized and had the cleaning service come remove the mouse the next day but it freaked me out because I hate mice, especially where we are preparing food and knowing it was decomposing in a kitchen cabinet while we were there grossed me out.

Well kept up property. Convenient location to stores and restaurant. However, the condo had an odd odor when the heater went on, like old cigarette smoke. Filters may need to be replaced

Property is nice, location wonderful, very well equipped. When we received the confirmation from VRBO we had an address but no unit number. Thk heavens we got there before 8:30 pm otherwise we may not have found the unit. The lodge were very helpful and kind and got us to r unit. We would stay there again.

Son and I enjoyed our 4 night stay here. Was very quite due to off season. Leena was always quick to respond when needed ( broken coffee pot, upstairs toilet issues). I do want to mention, I did not read the fine print before booking and paying to find out you have to fill out and pay “SuperHog” for a background check.

Loved that there was a trail behind the condominium! Also, love that it was conveniently located to stores and restaurants. We didn’t have to bring our pack n play or dinnerware for our toddler since the place already had those things!

Nice property. Very clean and comfortable with one exception. There seems to be some issue with the plumbing that keeps a water pump system going off randomly at all hours. The pump is loud. Happened throughout the night which made sleeping a challenge.

Spacious townhouse in a quiet neighborhood about 5 mins walking distance from the lake. Perfectly located between Tahoe City and Kings Beach and about a 20 min drive to Truckee. Hot water in the shower doesn’t last very long and I saw numerous black ants in the kitchen. Otherwise, I really enjoyed my stay and would stay again :)
