    The exterior of the building is average, but this condo offers unbeatable ocean views. In the back there is a lanai which is adjacent to a railing. Step to the railing, and you're looking down on waves crashing onto rocks, with the occasional turtle swimming. Look up and (with some patience, during migration season) you'll see whales spout and slap the water with their tails. Amazing.Being this close to the ocean means there is noise. If you're looking for silence, this may not be the right place for you. The noise of the waves didn't bother us, but it was always there. Parking is good. The lot is about a 30 second walk from the condo (good for noise and privacy), although the parking spots are small. We had a mid-sized SUV that barely fit in the spots; I wouldn't want to park anything bigger. There was a Vacasa parking pass on the kitchen counter, but the management office said it was meaningless and we needed one of their passes. The condo is a 12 minute walk to Brennecke's; watch for a monk seal lounging on the rocks. There were a few maintenance issues that I’m listing here so future guests can see if they were handled:-downstairs AC unit wouldn’t blow cold air-master bed AC leaked water-screen door on downstairs slider wouldn’t stay on track-upstairs slider wouldn’t stay locked-ceiling fan in living room wouldn’t workIf those issues are fixed, this is a great place to stay for a couple with or without kids who want to be right on the water.

    great location. Clean, well stocked. elevator was wonderful. Saw tons of sea turtles from the balcony. I wish there was Air conditioning, but the sea breeze was good enough to be tolerable.

    The condo was very nice, a nice view from the lanai. The unit was pretty clean, except for long black hairs in the bathroom, along the baseboards in the main bedroom and on the deck. They certainly were not ours! We’re both gray hairs. The hairdryer in the second bathroom needs to be replaced the on and off switch doesn’t work.. and the TV goes out frequently with a banner, across the bottom saying Internet connection had been disrupted. Not sure why that happened. It wasn’t that windy. They also lost part of a night sleep as the smoke detector started beeping for no reason at 4 AM.! We did notify the management and they took care of it.Otherwise a nice unit. We will return to the property again.

    The view was definitely the highlight of this property. We could watch turtles from the lanai and great sunsets. The only downside I would point out was that while the master bedroom gets a good breeze, the other bedroom does not, and with no A/C, that room was not as comfortable to sleep in.

    This was our third visit to Poipu Shores. The location could not be better. This time, however, there were some glaring issues. First off, a key is needed to enter and leave the pool area. The key should have been there at check-in, however, it took them 3 days to respond with the key. The queen mattress in the second bedroom was so broken down that it had to be replaced since it was unusable...again, it took far too long to respond. The faucet in the kitchen sink was falling apart, and the crank handle on one of the windows was broke. the local people were quite nice, however, it took Vacasa several days to respond. They also stated we would receive a partial refund; as of this point, we have not heard back from them.

    Beautiful unit perched on the sea cliffs! Wave noises were beautiful, but a little loud actually. Unit was very clean and modern. We had to deal with some maintenance issues that were fixed before we left. Overall, would definitely stay again in spite of the high price point.
