Stayed Jul 13, 2025The propeety was nice and close to beach. Inside we had some lights out and the tub overflow drain was missing and the Refrigerator was making a noise. Also there wasnt any extra sheets and blankets for the couch that turned into a bed. If it says it sleeps 4 it should have sheets and blacked for all places to sleep.

Stayed Jun 18, 2025This stay was great despite issues at the beginning. The day my partner and I arrived to Destin, we received a call and a text letting us know that the AC in the unit went out and gave us the choice for a full refund if we weren't okay with a portable AC unit. We chose to continue with the stay and I'm glad we did! We're so grateful that they were honest about the situation and gave us fair options. The unit entry is at the back of the property right next to the public beach access pier. Literally like a 2 minute walk to the shore. You can't beat it. The beach the property is next to was also not super packed and the water was crystal clear! The unit has a bit of an odd layout in terms of where the outside doors are. The back door leads DIRECTLY into the bedroom which was unnerving at first, but the property was so quiet we got used to that. The bathroom could use some upgrades, but it was still nice! Everything worked and the hot water got hot. It's smaller so don't expect to have more than one person in there at a time. The kitchen and living room area were an awesome bonus! The kitchen is stocked. We even found crab crackers! Which was great since we got crab and didn't have anything to crack them with. Everything in the unit worked. The lights above the bed are a bit tricky, but we figured out how to turn them on. As far as proximity to destinations go: in super heavy traffic (which we ran into a LOT) - it took us an hour to get to the outlet malls in Destin.

Stayed Jul 17, 2024The property is perfectly situated near the public beach access and just one row back from the ocean. Spotlessly clean and an affordable choice, there is plenty of room for a single traveler, a couple, or small family. The pool was a very nice option, but I missed the outdoor shower to rinse off the sand. The rental agent promptly answered my call when I was locked out due to a code change after extending my stay. He got it taken care of quickly and I was very pleased with the ease of working with the rental company. I would recommend this location for a budget-friendly, near-the-beach getaway.

Stayed Mar 30, 2024Overall, we had a decent vacation, but I will have to say that we won’t vacation in Fort Walton Beach again. There just isn’t much there and we found that we went to Destin every day for something to do. Now the pros and cons of Tropical Isle. Pros: As it was described, it is very close to the beach, although not on the beach. There is a convenient store next-door, which is handy. The condo was clean and just as it was described for the most part. Cons: the building is older and the condo is tired. I’m guessing it was built in the 1970s or 80s and the condo hasn’t had any major work done since it was built. The bathroom is in need of complete renovation and is very small. One thing I must note that I didn’t gather from the description. The door that you will use to enter the condo is the door into the only bedroom. So anytime anyone comes in and out of the condo it will be through the bedroom. Also the only bathroom is in the bedroom. Overall, it was a decent place to stay but I think the next time we would spend the extra money to stay in Destin on the beach.

Stayed Oct 8, 2022We have stayed in this building before, at least 10 years ago. Everything has been kept up well. The location is great. Easy access to the beach and lots of restaurants and stores nearby. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed Jul 26, 2022The only good thing about staying here was how close it was to the beach. Overall, our stay was a bit uncomfortable. The back light never came on automatically so it was pretty dark when entering the condo at night. We did tell Ken and nothing was done about it. The beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable. The pull out couch bed was broken. We also let him know that and nothing was done. We had to sleep facing the other way, sloping downward. The last day we were there, we noticed a leak in the ceiling above the kitchen/living room. Ken came over pretty fast but with no notice. I wanted to let him know as soon as possible just in case it got worse, mold, electrical fires etc. The leak was reaching the fan/light that was in that room. He said that mold doesn’t grow down there since it’s too humid… He also said “Don’t worry, if there’s a fire here, we’ll get you guys into a new place.” He said this in front of my 5 year old, which is completely unacceptable. If there was possibly a fire there we might not be alive to get moved to another condo. He didn’t seem worried at all about our safety or comfort at that point. He left and sat outside in his van for about 20 min before we left for dinner and then left right after us. He kinda creeped me out but reassured me that he wasn’t in an email starting with “First of all”. After the fact of me bringing all of this to his attention, he did offer to pay for us to find a hotel but it wouldn’t be close by. We just decided to turn of the lights/fan that was near the leak and stayed that last night. The last morning we were woken up a little after 7 to a cleaning crew going crazy next door. They were so loud. We were asked to be respectful of quiet times from 10pm-8am. Not too many neighbors followed that request. Ken even tried to say he was the owner of iTrip Vacations and that I couldn’t speak with anyone else even though he was making me uncomfortable. So there is only once person working for iTrip Vacations? And it’s the owner? I am honestly incredibly disappointed. When I read the reviews about this condo and the management, I was really excited to stay here. We will not stay here again or rent through iTrip Vacations Fort Walton.
