The lower level two couches in the den area are pull out beds with memory foam mattresses (2). There is a full bathtub in one of the full bathrooms on the main level, a feature all mothers with young children can appreciate. The second full bathroom on the main level features a stylish walk-in shower.
The Altamont Condos is located on historic Church Street in the heart of downtown. The street is tree lined and full of beautiful old buildings including three historic churches. The location is ideal, being close to everything downtown and the street is off the high traffic streets, so it is quieter than nearby Patton Avenue.
This building was originally constructed in 1895 and renovated in 2010. The historic character of the building was preserved so it continues to fit in on Church Street while adding modern features to make the property environmentally friendly, convenient and extremely safe.
A second renovation in 2019 created a pair of two-level condos that are ideal for friend groups or families. These two units have connecting doors to create a space for larger groups.
There is high-capacity internet coming into the building and extensive Wi-Fi coverage so you can work remotely during an extended stay. For entertainment we provide a smart TV with Sling and local TV channels, and the Wi-Fi has enough capacity to stream on personal devices.
The building features a large elevator that makes getting luggage in and out extremely easy. There are solar panels on the roof that are behind the original parapet that preheat the building's hot water and electric water heaters in each unit are only used for backup. Heating and cooling are provided by high efficiency heat pumps that automatically bring in fresh air from the outside so indoor air never seems stale. The building also meets the same safety standards as a hotel. There is a sprinkler system, emergency lighting and fire rated emergency exits. You can enjoy the charm of an old structure on a historic street and know that if there is an emergency in the middle of the night you can safely exit the building.
Parking is available in the new Buncombe County public garage on Coxe Ave, it's behind the church across the street and a very short walk. There is another public garage under the A-Loft hotel on Biltmore Avenue.
I loved the overall layout, for example the downstairs seating area reminds me of a similar area in my own home. Everything seems fairly new and the beds are comfortable enough. I didn’t use the kitchen but all the appliances looked pretty new. Whoever decorated the place did a great job.
Good property Great location
Property is in a perfect location, short walk to everything. We had trouble locating extra linens and Kelli personally stopped by to make sure everything was good. Our party was 6 adults and it was an extremely comfortable space
This is the second time we stayed here. The location is unbeatable (there are dozens if not hundreds of restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk), and the fact that our two families could go back and forth between this unit and the one next door meant that it was easy to coordinate meals and games. Would definitely stay here again next time we visit Asheville.
Spacious and nice. Great location. Good experience, but curious obsession w coat hangers. Vrbo online photo showed scene from high up in building. Actually, the place is half in basement and other floor is street level requiring closing blinds so people dont look in. Both lamps in master bedroom needed new lightbulbs. Wine glasses would gave been nice.
Location - Property is in a central location where you can easily walk to most places in the city. However, many homeless individuals hung out and slept right outside the building on the sidewalk in front of the unit’s kitchen/dining area.. Constant drug use visible from the kitchen and dining area of the facility, where we hung out to socialize throughout each day. Had to keep blinds closed because 5-6 people sat outside our windows and a few kept constantly peering into the kitchen/dining area. Wasn’t a back exit to the building so a couple members of our party did not feel safe. Cleanliness- Rugs and floors were extremely dirty. Bathroom floor in basement had a pile of dust, dirt and debris in the middle of the floor at checkin. However, kitchen, showers, and bathroom counters were clean. Floors were main issue when comes to cleanliness.
We spent two days in Asheville with our family of 7. The apartment was so clean. The linens were new and clean. Comfortable beds. Brian was a great communicator. The location to shopping and eating was convenient.
Spotlessly clean and very convenient location.
Property is very clean, updated and lots of room. Very close to everything. Can easily walk anywhere downtown you’d want to go. Would definitely stay again.
The property was very clean and spacious. Perfect for a girls trip! We will definitely book again!
