Pet Policy:
Here at Open Hearth Inn we welcome your four-legged family member. However, we ask you to help us with the following pet rules while staying with us.
1. Please don't leave your pet in the rooms unattended.
Why Because they miss you and from our experience of being professional hosts since the 90's, when they are lonely they howl or bark causing others to lose the quiet enjoyment on the property. Lonely pets also use the bed or other furniture to snuggle on while you are away. This is super tough for our housekeepers to remedy because blankets or comforters need to be washed or replaced, also furnishings can take hours to remove hair from so we can present a clean space for the next guest.
Maine is a very pet friendly place and since you brought them on vacation we hope you keep them with you so they can enjoy "Vacation Land" as much as humans do.
2. Please pick up all the poop/excrement they may have.
3. Please have your pup on a leash when enjoying the common areas.
4. Please try to refrain your dog from barking.
We have dog treats, extra poo bags and a water bowl in the common room.
*There will be an additional cleaning fee charged if your pet makes a mess of the room or the bedding. We hope that you and your four-legged family member have a great stay here at Open Hearth Inn.
No other notes. Feel free to ask any questions. :)

Cuter in person! It was a very cozy and comfortable stay while being close to everything we needed. Very convenient location to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park! Would definitely stay again. :)
Nice faculity, great location, comfortable place to stay, close to all our destinations.
First class
Convenient location, spacious and well stocked.
If you want a vacation in Bar Harbor and Acadia but don't want to pay Bar Harbor prices, this place just over the bridge will do the job. The small cabins are typical for Maine. They are small but cozy with full kitchens and a parking spot. There's also a good bakery across the street. It's about a 15 minute drive to Bar Harbor and the visitor center in Acadia.
Convenient to Bar Harbor and Schoodic Point. Well priced. Responsive and helpful owner.
Very cute property that was way more convenient to Bar Harbor than I thought it would be. Place was immaculate and spacious, they had free hot tub free laundry and a fire pit. The staff was warm friendly and quite available. We only stayed one night, but left there wishing we had stayed a week or two. Bonus - there is a cute little bakery right across the street where they sell homemade everything with coffee. Score!
What a fantastic property! We had such a great time. Location as as-advertised. The cabin was quite roomy and exceeded our expectations. Very convenient to Acadia National Park. My kids loved the outdoor common area.
It was very disappointing. The condition of the apartment is old and unkempt. In the morning we found mouse droppings on the kitchen counter and on the floor. This is not the kind of place that should be rented. It was a bad experience
Neat and cozy place, not far from Acadia national park. Check in process was easy and the management was very responsive with any requests we had.
The property was beautiful! The apartment we stayed in was absolutely adorable! My friends and I stayed in apartment 16 and I highly suggest it! Super clean and cozy. Will definitely come back again!
