Stayed Jan 26, 2026Upon our stay, we were immediately mesmerized with the attention to detail & effort put forth into this stay. We spoke with Michael for a moment, gathering the immense details of all the hard work put into his precious. We had no problems with our stay, as it made my girlfriends imagination run free & immerse ourselves in a fantasy come true.

Stayed Dec 22, 2025Unfortunately our stay was short lived after discovering mold spores on one of the air vents and experiencing respiratory difficulties. There was a great attention to detail to the items you see in the pictures and I can see how it would be a lot of fun for fans. Other things we observed during the visit:Not all spaces are finished and could present a hazard for children. Being in the basement, you easily hear noises from above. There was trash/debris piled up in the back yard. Perhaps for a bonfire? We contacted the host upon noticing the mold, which was within the first hour of arriving. Responses were quick. Due to the health hazard associated with mold, we let the host know we would not returning and asked for a refund. We also raised the matter to VRBO. The host needed time to contemplate the mater and wanted have a professional confirm the mold spores (which we were told was confirmed). We were promised a refund but as of writing this we have not received a refund.

Stayed Nov 16, 2025Unique vrbo. Well equipped kitchenOnly real issue was the water closet (toilet) if someone is claustrophobic it will be a problem very small and no ventilation unless you leave the water closet door open. Downtown/ restaurants easy to get to.

Stayed Aug 28, 2025We stayed two nights. Unit has easy access to lake, restaurants, etc. Two bedrooms and two main spaces - the living area with huge couch and the kitchen. Unit was clean and the two Hobbit themed doors and fireplace were the main attraction/theme. Host was very responsive to communication. Need to use the Xbox controller to get the Hobbit dvd to play on the tv.

Stayed May 31, 2025First of all the area is beautiful and the property is amazing. The detail the host put into the location is outstanding. Anyone who loves The Hobbit will love this place. However, it is not for anyone with mobility issues. To get to the sleeping areas or only bathroom you need to be able to step up over a large and wide threshold from the big round door. To reach the toilet you need to be able to step up into the closet it is locate in, and to get into the beds you need to be able to jump up a bit or climb over the side rails. (think of the scene where Frodo is in the giant bed after being rescued from Mt Doom) This is that bed, though instead of being made for elves it is made for large Northmen. All hobbits, and dwarves will need assistance to climb in. My wife has serious mobility issues and only with great difficulty was able to get into the lowest bed. Even so she loved our stay and was glad to have had the experience. The experience is worth the trouble, but if you are unable to navigate steps or handle getting up and down from high places (or low seats) this may not be for you.

Stayed May 24, 2025The details that the owner has put into this property are just incredible! The kitchen and living room are fantastic! The only downside is an extremely steep driveway that is a bit difficult to traverse via vehicle or on foot. This is also in the basement of someone’s home and the floorboards above are quite noisy & the owners were walking around throughout the middle of the night the last night we were there but the other two nights we slept pretty well.

Stayed May 7, 2025This place is a hidden gem!! The attention to detail in every room was extremely well thought out and added a bit of magic to every space. The primary bed is like sleeping on a cloud and we still can’t stop talking about it! Lol we will definitely stay here again the next time we pass through town.

Stayed Oct 27, 2024I booked this place to surprise my husband, after some medical issues kept us home from a planned trip to New Zealand, and he was truly pleased! The place was clean, bed was very comfy, and the detail of the decor was enchanting! We enjoyed making our first breakfasts in the beautiful and well-stocked kitchen, watching the movies, exploring the Russellville area, and even showering in a waterfall! We were able to park our Prius by the entry, of what was a bit of a steep driveway, with no problems. We recommend a trip to the restaurant at the Lodge at Petit Jean State Park, also with some great hikes, and highly recommend this Hobbit House stay to others! We would stay here again, and recommend others bring their favorite coffee to enjoy around a campfire, or while watching and reliving the Hobbit all over again!

Stayed Sep 12, 2024The amount of work the host has put into the decor of this place is amazing. It was a fun place to stay. If you have the chance to text or speak to the owner its an impressive story about the work done to create this space. The location was easy to get to and a short drive into town.
