Truly magnificent views of the Pacific Ocean and the rugged Southern Oregon Coast await at Rainbow Rock 303, a two-bedroom, two-bathroom condo in a spectacular oceanfront setting on a rocky bluff in Brookings. A stunning escape in every season, this condo will uniquely position you for a romantic escape, a couples' retreat, winter storm watching, summer beachcombing, or some of the most scenic hiking on the entire Oregon Coast.
The living space is inviting and comfortable, offering plush furnishings, a fully appointed kitchen, and a private washer/dryer to refresh your salty bathing suits and hiking clothes at the day's end. But the heart of this condo awaits outside on the oceanfront balcony, where you can take in a dramatic, 180-degree view of the ocean, the sea stacks and small islands that sit just offshore, and the California coastline off in the distance to the south. If you follow the short trail down the bluff from this small, gated community, you'll reach a secluded, sandy beach that's perfect for strolling, tidepooling, and exploring the rocky caves.
What's nearby:
Rainbow Rock is a tranquil community of five oceanfront buildings that's truly special in its seclusion. The community owns the entire bluff down to the ocean, with access restricted to owners and guests. Here on the southern border of the Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor, which is widely regarded as the most beautiful stretch of shoreline in Oregon, you can meet up with the Oregon Coast Trail right on the grounds of the property, allowing you to reach Cape Ferrelo (just over a mile north) and scenic spots along the entire 12-mile length of the corridor. Harris Beach State Park is two miles south, with the charming little coastal town of Brookings just one mile beyond, where you can find every convenience and even pick up fresh crabs at the docks in season. This is also a region that was seemingly designed for scenic drives, with dramatic ocean vistas and gorgeous rocky shorelines for more than 100 miles north and incredible groves of old-growth California redwoods - including Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park (25 miles) - to the south.

The beach front views were breath taking.
This place seemed to be a retirement facility. We received a lot of mean glares everytime we arrived. The appartment was old. It had a nice view of the ocean but was too scared to go out on deck because it felt very unstable. The beds were so hard and old that we actually checked out a day early. pillows were old and uncomfortable. Kitchen didn't have proper cooking ware. We had to go buy. Water pressure for shower and toilet was really bad. 1 towel was dirty. Freezer was stained/dirty with yellow on it.
Some of the reviews mention the carpet stains, it’s a white carpet in a short term rental - honestly I was expecting worse. Regardless of the small stain here and there you can tell it is cleaned regularly AND it feels nice underfoot. Isn’t that what really matters? As far as being “dated” I don’t know about that. I’d say “no frills” but the place has its charm. Kiddos love the coffee/sand table too. I’d highly recommend!
Location and view were great. Condo needs attention and updates to woodwork, lighting, fireplace area, and rearrange furniture to look out window for view.
The unit had basics covered, essential kitchen items, but not much character in the decorations or furnishings. The keypad lock didn't work and we had to contact customer service to gain access. Loved the views, the traffic noise not so much.
My husband and I loved our stay. It had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. And the view was fabulous!
The view is fabulous! Access to beach doable over some rocks with my walking sticks. A 1970’s vibe and clean.
The view from the kitchen, dinning room & out on the deck is fabulous. We only got to see it when we first arrived because by the next day, fog for the rest of our 5 days blocked the view.
This place is cool. It’s dated but well maintained. Great views with an amazing private beach. Very quiet . Would book this again in a heartbeat.
Both the condo and the location were lovely, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. However, it also smells weird- probably due to humidity in the carpets. Finding the actual unit was harder than it should have been. It would have been a lot easier if we had been given a building identifier (Building B) in addition to the unit number. The 10 am checkout also seems unreasonable (we ourselves are hosts and find that such an early check out doesn't work for most guests). Still, these were minor inconveniences, and we look forward to returning.
Great location, clean; too much road noise in background competing with sounds of crashing waves; smelled stale, must we first got there - turned on fan, opened balcony door and was fine within a half an hour; kitchen cabinets functional but pretty beat up; second bed needs a new mattress - 3 inch foam topper doesn't compensate for old worn mattress; Condos are well-kept paint and maintenance; beach area is wonderful - just a little steep trail in and out, but well-maintained; like the relative isolation from town and closeness to state parks and trails; appliances are good; plenty of hot water; comfortable furniture; south Oregon coast is just great with lots of excursions to go on; enjoyed fishing out of Brookings Harbor
The view from the condo was beautiful! The condo was clean, but rather dated., especially in the kitchen. We did find everything we needed, even a small fan we used in the bedroom.
My best friend and I stayed the weekend and had a wonderful time. It’s clean, comfortable and you can’t beat the view! We’ll be back for sure!
We loved the location and the private beach (it is a hike, and you have to walk across a section of driftwood and rock to the sand). Bedrooms were nice. Seating was nice. The big disappointment/frustration was how poorly stocked the kitchen was. No cookie sheet, no casserole dishes, no spatulas (the bowl scrapper, or pancake flipper kind), no mixing/serving bowls, no functioning can opener (the one they have does not work), no ladle, no measuring cups or spoons, no water pitcher, no blender (well, there is one, but it’s from the 60s), one single hot pad. Bring your own knives for cooking, and scissors. Fridge needs an update as well as the drawers are hard to open and the shelves in the door are all broken. I know we had to rearrange our meal plans because of this, and want others to be aware so they know what they need to bring. They also need another mat for inside the house at the entry since they ask for you to remove shoes—there’s not enough space for more than one person at a time to go in and take off their shoes.
We have stayed at Rainbow Rock many times before in several different units. In comparing rates with other condos, this one seems a bit overpriced. It's not that it wasn't clean because it was. It's not because of the location because you can't go wrong with the views from all of the condos - magnificent! It was the lack of upkeep maintenance that disappointed us. The finish on the wood cabinets are worn down to the bare wood. The refrigerator has seen better days and is missing some of the shelving. In fact, it's not even the fridge shown in the listing! The area rug in the living room, although very clean and pretty, is a trip hazard because the corners are curled up badly. Although my comments are only my opinion, I think the owners would be wise to invest in a little repair maintenance if they are going to continue to charge the higher rates. I don't object to paying for quality, but I do expect to receive it once I've paid.
All great, bad refrigerator
