The master bedroom with a king bed and bathroom en-suite and the queen guest bedroom opens to the deck, offering lots of opportunities to congregate with a large group or keep it intimate with your morning coffee.
Once you do leave the comforts of this home, anything you'll want to do is close by – the nightly Sunset Celebration at Mallory Square, dining and shopping galore on Duval Street, and many historic attractions within easy walking distance. Spend time relaxing by the refreshing pool or ride your bike to Ft. Zachary Taylor State Park for some swimming and snorkeling at Key West’s nicest beach. Life is good at Sundown Refuge!

- This home is on a monthly pest control schedule. The area of Key West is home to many insects such as termites, no-see-ums, and mosquitos. Pest control can not eliminate these insects during the swarming season. You may also encounter geckos, lizards, iguanas, frogs, and chickens during your stay in the area.
- Key West is a resort island where renovation of existing historic properties, new construction, and road repair sometimes occur without forewarning. AvantStay is not liable for any guest inconveniences caused due to construction in the area.
- The Harbor Place HOA is doing extensive renovations on the exterior of the Condominiums. They are attempting to soundproof the noise the best they can, and at times part of the deck adjacent to your rental may be unavailable for use. This will affect reservations between August and December 2023.
- Please note that max occupancy includes infants.
Parking Details:
One assigned parking space.
No large trucks, trailers, mobile homes, vans, campers, or similar vehicles shall be parked in the Truman Annex.
Motorcycles and scooters must be parked in the parking lot and not on sidewalks or porches.
All vehicles parked within the community must either have a permanent parking sticker or a temporary parking pass (obtained at the Security Guardhouse). All others will be subject to ticketing and towing.

Accidental Damage Protection: A non-refundable accidental damage protection plan has been included in the price of your reservation. Under this plan, you will not be held responsible to pay for accidental damage or loss to the rental property resulting from you or others in your party up to $2000. This plan does not cover intentional acts of a guest, gross negligence, or willful and wanton conduct, and/or damages caused by pets. This plan is not available for reservations 28 days or longer or reservations that require a security deposit.
This is a smoke-free property. Violation of the no-smoking policy will result in forfeiture of the security deposit, a $300 smoking fee, and liability for any fire or property damage costs.
As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9pm-8am) are strictly enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be provided for use in our properties. Violation of any noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation.
Events or parties are not allowed without prior written approval and an additional fee. Any unauthorized parties or events will be shut down and a fine will be assessed. Please inquire for more information about our event policies and fees.
There is nothing more important to us at AvantStay than the health, safety, and experience of our guests & staff. We've enhanced our cleaning and sanitation protocols and are taking extra care to disinfect all surfaces between reservations with hospital-grade disinfecting solutions.
As a reminder, we do work with 3rd party vendors to maintain the property, and although we adhere to the strictest CDC guidelines and advise all contractors to wear PPE equipment, we can not always enforce. We strongly advise guests to please deny access if any vendors fail to meet and adhere to these standards.

Condo located in Truman Annex and close to everything in KW. Enjoyed daily walk to Cuban Coffee Queen in Mallory Sq. Overall had a wonderful trip. Lisa in the office was awesome. She was very helpful in our surprise of our guests. Just a few things needed to be done to condo... - Sink Faucet in Hallway Bathroom has very low pressure. - Gate to Deck needs to be fixed. Bottom Hinge coming away from wall and is sagging. Otherwise a Great Trip was had by all. Would definitely return to Sundown Refuge
This condo is the perfect location absolutely beautiful, extra large deck… walk right down from the deck to the pool where we spent most of our time!!! Absolutely loved it, I would stay again I just recommend a little more supplies for the kitchen, and cleaning equipment for the grill… had a wonderful stay really enjoyed ourselves The electric barbecue grill was the Best… we grilled every day. Working with the rental company @ home in Key West was delightful

The door has a handle that does not rotate which is confusing. There is a key operated dead bolt and a second key operated device to open the door. With three devices, we couldn't figure out how to operate the door. Finally got lucky and had the dead bolt in the unlock position at the same time the other key operated the door. We gave up on the handle.The view of the harbor was better a few years ago. the trees and shrubbery obscure the view now.
This property is managed by a company. The company is closed on weekends. Most renters checking in and out are on the weekend. They gave us keys that did not work to the exterior gates. We had to walk .5 mile to the main gate to exit the complex and .5 back from the main gate to the unit the first two days. They brought us keys that worked on the THIRD day. If you are going to check people in and out at least hire someone to take care of the renters if you are closed. Someone should of brought me the correct keys on day ONE. That’s what I paid for. Nowhere in the listing does it say that if they screw up, you’ll have to wait until we reopen to fix. I even called their emergency number which they said they couldn’t answer because they were closed. VRBO should not allow listings from these types of properties that aren’t even open to service what they rent. Service should be available for every day that you stay.
This was a great place in a perfect location! Very clean and stocked with everything we needed. The water pressure in the guest bathroom sink was bad but other than that, it was great!
This condo is in one of the most prime locations you can get in Key West, 2 blocks to Mallory Square, 2 blocks to lower Duvall St, endless choices for dinning, bars, music venues, shops, museums. Step out the back patio and there's the pool, continue down the pathway another 75 ft and you are in the Marina. The pool was heated and great, not too busy. The condo all in all served us well, beds were great, kitchen was stocked with all that we needed. Only draw back would be the furniture overall, the living room furniture is less than comfortable and of course that's a place you spend a good deal of time when at the property, the patio is massive and has stunning views but it equipped with low end plastic chairs and table. It's not enough to keep us away, we would return to this property.
