Key Colony Beach is called the “Gem of the Keys,” and for good reason! Our very well-appointed and recently updated 2BR, 2BA condo is DIRECT beach front, on one of the most beautiful PRIVATE beaches in all the Keys, set on very well maintained grounds with lush tropical landscaping, large heated pool, and a beachfront grilling Tiki! EVERY room (except the hall bath!) has a view of the beach!! All in the very middle of the Florida Keys, at MM mid-50's.
Our Two-Bedroom and Two-Bathroom, 999 square feet, top (third) floor walk-up condo features a recently remodeled and well-appointed Kitchen (with granite tops and stainless GE appliances) with an adjacent Dining area that is open to the large Living Room with a large sliding glass door that opens onto a Balcony that leaves nothing between you and a gorgeous white sand beach but a few steps across a manicured lawn. The corner Master Bedroom suite features huge windows on two walls to enjoy stunning tropical beach views from the comfort of the king-size bed, as well as a private Bathroom – with its own beach view – and closet! The secondary Bedroom features two full-size beds, a closet, and a huge window overlooking the beautiful beach below. A sunrise so beautiful you will set your alarm early, no matter how late you were up the night before, is viewable from every room – but is most spectacular from the private balcony, where it’s accompanied by the gentle sounds of ocean waves rolling onto the beach. New flat screen TV’s with cable are located in both the Living Room (55") and Master Bedroom (43") – not that you’ll want to watch TV while you’re visiting this paradise – and password-enabled Wi-Fi is unique to this unit!
On the beautiful tropically-landscaped grounds, besides the exquisite, private white sand beach that we’re famous for, there is a large heated pool surrounded by relaxing lounge chairs and grass-roofed or umbrella’d tables with seating, a manicured lawn with more lounge chairs overlooking that gorgeous beach, a beach-front Tiki hut with outdoor dining tables and gas grills, a shuffleboard court, outdoor showers, as well as an outdoor storage area for kayaks that can be delivered from many of the nearby rental businesses. And, there’s Wi-Fi at the pool and beach, too!
Sea Isle Condos are only walking distance to many popular activities, destinations and businesses. Sunset Park, where locals and visitors alike come together to enjoy breathtaking sunsets every evening, is only steps away. Key Colony Inn, one of the very best restaurants in all of the Keys, is a leisurely 8 minute stroll down beautiful West Ocean Drive – with a dedicated walking/biking lane. Just beyond KCI is a Par-3 golf course, tennis courts, pickle ball courts and a kid’s playground. And, all within 7 minutes more past KCI, there’s Key Colony Beach Marina (where you can charter an offshore or backwater fishing trip), Causeway Pizza, DK’s Beach Boutique, a hair salon, and the Post Office. A few minutes more and you’re at the Cabana Club or Havana Jack’s restaurant. On adjacent Marathon, just a few minutes’ drive away, you’ll find Publix and Winn-Dixie grocery stores, a Home Depot, Mariner’s Hospital, Marathon International Airport, and dozens of restaurants ranging from fast food to diners to fine dining – many overlooking spectacular open-water views.
Nearby activities, destinations and attractions include Aquarium Encounters, Dolphin Research Center, The Turtle Hospital, Florida Keys Country Club, Curry Hammock State Park, Crane Point Preserve, Marathon Air Museum and Pigeon Key Visitor’s Center – none more than a 13 minute drive. Diving, snorkeling, boating and fishing opportunities abound, from minutes away to up and down the entire stretch of the Keys. Theatre of the Sea, World Wide Sportsman and History of Diving Museum in Islamorada are about 40 minutes away, with John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park and the African Queen tour in Key Largo another 30 minutes down the Overseas Highway. Head south, towards Key West, and stop along the way at legendary Bahia Honda Key State Park to enjoy nature, or at Big Pine Key (24 miles) to see world famous Key Deer. Once in Key West visit the Hemmingway House, the Mel Fisher Museum, the famous Key West Aquarium, the Butterfly Conservatory, the Southernmost Point in the US, and countless legendary restaurants, watering holes, tours, attractions and shopping opportunities.
Key Colony Beach, even though the entire island is only 0.3 square miles, is its own City, with its own City Hall, Police Department, Post Office, Building Department and Maintenance Department – and these folks work hard to ensure our little paradise is safe, clean and enjoyable for everyone who visits. Some of KCB’s rules for vacation rentals include minimum 7 day rentals, and maximum occupancies based on how large the house or condo is – for our 999 square-foot condo, City rules limit us to a maximum of four (4) occupants. Please note this is a third-floor unit with stairs - there is not an elevator; most everything in the Keys is already elevated, so this amounts to 1 extra flight compared to most properties. Some additional rules for our Sea Isle Condos include no pets, no smoking in the buildings, and no boats or trailers in the parking areas. If you would like to bring a boat or skis with you, private storage is available both on and off the island. This past fall a guest of ours brought his flats boat and stored it at the nearby dry storage facility for 9 days, with unlimited ins and outs, for $300 (including secure trailer storage) – boat size and availability dependent. If you’re renting with us, just ask for the contact info, and we’ll gladly supply it.
During the “high season” (mid-December through end of April) rentals are limited to Saturday-to-Saturday only (no mid-week arrivals or departures). These weeks are usually booked a year in advance, but occasionally there’s an opening or a cancellation, so if you don’t see the week you want, please check back! For the “mid-season” (May through mid-December) we prefer to do Saturday-to-Saturday, but if you have a request for a different 7 day (or longer) window, let us know and we’ll see if we can accommodate you (generally easier to do in May, October and November than the summer months).
There’s a 12.5% local tourism tax, as well as a $200 cleaning fee. There’s also a $300 security deposit required, which will be returned unless there’s excessive cleaning or damage. A list of the rules, regulations, and a rental agreement can be sent to prospective tenants upon request.
Lovely little condo with a fantastic view! Doesn’t get much closer to the beach than this. Condo had everything we needed, was clean, well kept, and the beds were very comfortable. Richard was a wonderful host and provided some great dining and activity suggestions in the area. Will be returning asap!
Beach, pool , and beautiful sunrises right here. Fishing, restaurants all within a short drive. Key west only about an hour away. What else would u want.
Excellent stay
Condo really is as good as it sounds in the listing - well stocked & updated kitchen, comfortable furniture, great beds in both rooms, super clean, balcony with direct ocean views (same unobstructed view from the master), and just steps from the beautiful beach. I fell asleep each night to the sound of waves crashing, even with the window closed! We saw dolphins, pelicans, tropical fish, manta rays. Pool is also great & clean. The middle keys location is ideal for traveling to Key West or Key Largo. Easy parking too. Richard is a pleasure to work with and very responsive. This is my second time at Sea Isle and I will book this specific condo again if possible! Thank you for sharing your slice of heaven with us, Richard!
We loved almost everything about this location. The condo was everything that the description detailed, it had everything you could want from a FL vacation. The only minor drawback was no elevator to get the heavy suitcases up to the 3rd floor. We would rent again in a heartbeat!
Very nice place. Our only complaint was that we had to pay for laundry. We thought it would be in the room. We would come here again ?
This Condo really made our whole trip. We LOVED it! The 3rd floor beachfront, oceanfront location is extremely desirable and just perfect! The ocean views are absolutely stunning! Watching sunrises, from the comfort of the King size bed, was incredible! We enjoyed hours sitting on the balcony watching the ocean, passing boats and the ever changing clouds. We saw nurse sharks and watched sting rays jump out of the water! The Condo is beautifully decorated and enhances the overall Florida Keys feel. The entire complex is attractively landscaped and well maintained. The PRIVATE soft, white sand beach is gorgeous and is raked every morning. We feel Key Colony is the best location in the Florida Keys. The area restaurants are great and Key West is only an hour away. We could not have been happier with our stay! Many thanks to Richard for this opportunity to stay at his slice of heaven! We hope to return again!
The view from this condo is amazing. Every am we raised the blinds in the master bedroom and watched the sun come up over the ocean. The king size bed was so comfortable. Our two young grandchildren would wake and come snuggle with us. Everything we could have wanted or needed to prepare and eat meals was provided for us. The furniture was comfortable and the view from the living area and balcony was just as amazing. The pool was great and the beach was nice. A lot of seaweed but that did not stop us. This was a great rental and we can not wait to come back. Only thing is it is 2 flights up but that only made a difference on move in and move out day. The view more than made up for the exercise we got.
We recently stayed at Richard’s condo, unit 10 in Sea Isle Condominiums for two wks mid-May. What a beautiful, immaculate place! I can’t say enough good things about this rental. The views are absolutely breathtaking, the place was immaculately clean inside & out. The decor is lovely – light & airy, w/ high quality furniture & furnishings. The unit is stocked with everything you could want, and more, all high quality items. Richard was immediately responsive to my questions pre-travel. I really can’t praise this rental and owner enough. Well done Richard, and thank you so much for sharing your space with us!
