The perfect little Kauai getaway spot! This ocean view studio is located on the ground floor of an oceanfront property. Cozy, with vintage touches, this studio is the perfect place to stay while on your tropical vacation.

Kapa’a Sands is located on the Kauai’s east shore. Often referred to as a ‘Hidden Gem’, this property consists of only 24 retreats. Each retreat is a corner unit with louvered windows on three sides allowing the cooling tradewinds to blow in. Returning guests all agree that the vintage charm of Kapa’a Sands just cannot be beat.

Complete with a full kitchen with a dishwasher, this home away from home also includes a king bed, flatscreen TV, and free WiFi. Enjoy the lawn off the back lanai and watch the waves breaking in the ocean. It’s a short stroll down the beach where pods of Nai'a (dolphin) can be seen swimming by almost daily. There is a gated shared pool on the property along with a pool-side BBQ area.

Enjoy shopping, casual dining, a free hula show, and a weekly farmer’s market less than a block away; an easy stroll at any time of the day. Water activities on the Wailua River, hiking the Sleeping Giant, or swimming and sunning at Lydgate Beach Park are a five minutes’ drive away.

    1. Satanic mattress from hell. It’s sloped towards the back, and your head ends up lower than your feet. Torture. 2. Kitchen is equipped, but there is no salt or sugar, nothing at all! - so good luck buying all that on your own. 3. No management/supervision on premises - any issues? You are on your own and good luck figuring it out. 4. UNSAFE PREMISES! I injured my feet while ascending the steps from the beach leading to the property, had had to go to ER and received stitches on both feet and a tetanus shot. Vacasa, who manages the property, refused to take ANY responsibility and informed me that the steps to the beach are managed by the county (where we submitted a hazard report as well). Absolutely outraging. AVOID VACASA and be careful when you book anything through Expedia as well, they advertise parties like Vacasa, where you or your child can end up with injuries, god forbid.

    Nicely appointed unit, small and cozy with everything you need. Great setting on a bluff viewing the ocean. conveniently located near shops and easy drive to many beaches. But it does have a lot of road noise, being on the main highway.

    Loved the beach steps away on grass that felt like carpet Quality mattress Not happy with the lack on installation The upstairs tenants were stomping around as if the playing hockey with a bowling bowl Could hear utensils hitting the floor If I were to return, it would be imperative to be on an upper floor

    This was our first time to this island; we spent the first 6 day here traveling and getting to know it. The last 4 day we went just about nowhere. The next time we come here we would rent the same condo and not even rent a car. Everything you need is only a few minutes away by walking, farmers market, groceries, restaurants and beaches.

    This place is sooo cozy, comfortable, and great location. Steps from the ocean, this place has what you need for your next adventure in Kauai. Full kitchen, the most comfortable bed and spacious living space. Cannot go wrong staying here. Will stay here next time I visit the island.

    This unit was small but gave the two of us enough room for our stay. It was just steps away from the ocean. Pro: Great location to make many day trips. Walking distance to shopping center and short drive to grocery store. Pool not crowded and just steps from unit. There was beach towels, ice chest and sand chairs for us to use. Con: Bottom floor equals hearing the upstairs neighbors. Small kitchen had little in it to actually cook for the amount of time we stayed here. No cooking sheets only broiling pan. Found no extras left in unit like foil, plastic wrap or any spices what so ever. So if grabbing groceries from store make sure you pick up all of the above. No one on site to keep noise to a minimum after hours. We had noted people using pool area after 10 pm at times and had a screaming baby upstairs neighbor for many days that woke us up.

    I loved the customer service provided by Daniel- the local VACASA rep. Had to change out two cable receiver boxes and finally a tv over 3 days. He was very responsive. Unfortunately this unit is old and falling apart. Two dresser drawers in a tiny dresser were broken, drape fell off the rod on its own, furniture is not vintage, it's just dumpy. Some improvements on this and a fresh coat of paint to cover the peeling paint would go a long way to making the guest more comfortable. No AC - when surrounding condo complexes do- made a miserable stay with high humidity and heat. Also 3 out of 5 loungers in pool area are broken and need to be replaced or repaired. I almost fell through one when going to lie down. Daniel worked hard to make us comfortable but only so much he could do. My friends stay in #11 and love it - obviously different owners have different priorities.
