Stayed Nov 13, 2024Looking online, I found this place in Waikiki at the Waikiki Banyan. It was a marvelous choice. The price for this apartment was suitable to my budget. It was very roomy, had a large living room, separate bedroom, bath area, kitchen stocked with every type of countertop appliance, and nice dining table. The furnishings were somewhat older than the picture depicted, but after the first day we felt right at home. The mattresses on the two beds were heavenly to sleep on. We had some difficulty working the electronic locking mechanism on the entry door, but finally figured it out. Our room was next to the laundry room and the trash shoot which was also very convenient. The views from the room are not panoramic, but in Waikiki, with so many high rises, a panoramic view is nearly impossible no matter where you stay. But the views were OK. We found a really nice restaurant called Lulu's on Kalakaua Blvd. that fronts Waikiki Beach. It's a two block walk toward the beach on Kalakaua Blvd., turn left and walk another two blocks. It's a wonderful second story, open air restaurant with great views of Waikiki Beach and Pacific Ocean as well as great food. . We have other places we want to travel to, but if we should happen to return to Hawaii, I will definitely want to stay in that exact same room.
