Excellent property, as advertised. Convenient ski on-ski off location between Mary Jane & Winter Park Gondola. Very well maintained & equipped property. Very well equipped kitchen including condiments, plastic bags, coffee, teas and the like. No need to run downtown for little things often missing from ski condos. Convenient, locked ski storage on site. All in all we were very pleased w/ the condo and overall w/ the Iron Horse complex. Simple efficient check in and out, garage parking, indoor-outdoor pool and outdoor hot tubs, very responsive Skyrun staff. What's not to like.
Clean property. location is good for skiing out of it takes a little planning to ski back into it though. Ski rental shop on site is a bonus. Gets a little tight at times but not too bad
This condo has everything! Walked right out to the slopes, big hot tub to come back to after skiing, extra pillows, and the fireplace made it extra cozy. I would definitely stay here again when I visit Winter Park.
4 hours before our flight to Denver we were given 'a heads up' via a text that our studio would be minus a couch -the only comfortable seating. The first night there we found the gas fireplace heating unit unresponsive to thermostat controls. Property displayed online was a couch and a fireplace - we had an inflatable mattress and a space heater. Unforeseen issues happen with all properties but we feel compelled to review the way it was handled. Communication was scant and impersonal. Multiple phone calls rarely received an immediate personal response but after a lag time, we received texts. Compensation was not offered without intiation on our part and then met with minimal desire to resolve mismatched expectations. On the evening before our last full day at the property when they were having securing a maitenance man, they did offer us via text a full refund if we wanted to go find another place. This 'offer' did not seem fair as it continue to put the burden on us to shoulder the unexpected property issues. SkyRun did not offer to help us find a place or help us make that move. Their take on this offer- 'we gave you a choice and you decided to stay'told us At 5 in the evening and with 1 full day of our vacation left, this didn't seem like a choice to us as senior citizens who would have to clean the studio, pack up equipment, find a last minute rental availibity in an unfamiliar town with no assistance. While we discussed their texted offer for a few minutes, we then got another text that said that a heating person was on his way to fix the unit. Since the heating issue was resolved and the studio was no longer cold, we did decide to stay. So, if you have a problem with SkyRun property, from our experience we would tell you not to expect help forthcoming nor an attitude of 'how can we make this right for the customer'.
Great place to stay.... love the ski in -ski out. Comfortable, cozy room and love the resort's ameneties.
Everything about the property was fantastic. True ski in/out, and very easy to access from Mary Jane. Easy parking, with a great hot tub and good little gym for those who didn't get enough exercise on the slopes.
We were so excited to having our first ski trip with our son! Before we even got out to the rental the Explorie advertising was sent to us that went over all the complimentary services and money saving offers that were actually not even on site, which I asked and was told yes the rentals and the activities were on the resort, which was not true. The directions were subpar, but we lucky found the building quickly and were able to figure out the keypads that had 12 digits to enter. The unit was unclean, pet hair was on the floor, the blinds were broken and in shambles, the hideaway bed was broken, but were able to muscle it out on the 2nd night. The water closet smelled of sulfur and was poorly lite. The thermostat was useless as it was always hot in the unit, and we turned it down to the lowest setting. The beds were bad but the pillows were the worst. We used folded up blankets as pillows. the lights and plugs were in places that were hard to find and minimal, and the fire place didn't work, even though we wouldn't have turn it on due to the inability to control the temp in the unit. To say we were excited to go home to finally be able to sleep is an understatement. the lockers for gear were not listed and we could not find them anywhere. We did enjoy the pool and hot tubs. The condo above us wore ski boots inside and they were very loud, just the cherry on top of what should have been a great trip with our son. We love Winer Park, I have been going to this resort since I was a child. In the future we will just ensure we stay on the resort instead of the distance it took to get to the lifts and activities. The activities that were Complimentary were not on site and were only for one adult not totaling what the booking instructions included. Vary Leary to book with VRBO in the future.
I am a person who has 3 “MUSTS” when it comes to places to stay. It MUST be clean, it MUST have a good mattress and pillows, and it MUST have enough of a kitchen to prepare a simple meal. This condo had all of the above and even more. Not only was it clean, but cozy too. The mountain décor was perfect and the switch operated fireplace created a nice ambiance. There were plenty of pillows and blankets, and the mattress was quite comfortable. The kitchen had every gadget and gismo that I would ever need…. It definitely was fully equipped. I was visiting my son who lives in the area so I did not get a chance to use the pool, hot tub, etc, but they looked terrific… maybe next time. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
Loved the location, the room was exactly as shown. We will be back!
A true ski in and ski out experience. Winter Park resort is literally out the back door. The hot tubs were wonderful to come back to at the end of the day. As someone who likes to cook, I really appreciated the fully outfitted kitchen. My wife thought the bed was very comfy and she enjoyed the extra blankets. 100% worth not dealing with I70 traffic and finding parking. The door codes for the complex are a bit long but being keyless is convenient, just be sure to write them down before you leave. Would love to come back here every year.
Charming space with great access to the lifts. Comfy and had everything we needed. Loved the ambiance of the fire stove and the animal photos on the wall.
I loved my stay at this Iron Horse apartment! The room had everything we needed, a full kitchen, extra pillows and blankets, a beautiful balcony and a hot tub. The location is perfect. You can walk right out to the slopes and ski back in. Don't have to deal with resort parking or buses. The room is cute and cozy and perfect for two people, yet also able to accommodate more.
