Welcome to this dreamy newly renovated condo, strategically prepared for you! Located in the established and gated Bretz Mill community!

The Space:
Nearby trails lead to hidden creeks and horseshoe pits! Just far enough to feel calm and relaxing on busy weekends, but close enough to be in the action in minutes!

Guest Access:
Guests have access to the entire property, and *seasonal* pool and spa. There are paved streets and walking trails that guests may use.There's ample parking that is first come first served, located along the front of the unit.

The Neighborhood:
Located in the quiet and friendly gated community of Bretz Mill, Modern Forest Retreat is likely to become your favorite Shaver Lake destination! Access to the pool and spa during the summer, and large snowy areas during the winter, are just the icing on the cake. Only 5 minutes from downtown Shaver Lake and 10 minutes to the lake, you're close enough to enjoy restaurants and activities, yet far enough away to relax on a busy weekend. Walk toward the main road to take advantage of the horseshoe pits, bbq area, and stream in Ockenden. Just a 30-minute drive to the Dinkey Creek swimming pools, wind surfing at Huntington Lake, and China Peak Ski Resort. About 45 minutes to fishing at Wishon and Courtright Reservoirs.

Getting Around:
We suggest using your own vehicle to get around.  Traveling in the winter 4 wheel drive and tire chains are strongly encouraged, and may be required by California Highway Patrol when there's snow in the forecast.  The main road (Rockledge) is plowed, but we still suggest bringing a snow shovel and preparing to walk through snow if you're coming during a snowstorm.

Other Things to Note:
Modern Forest Retreat is a condo in a gated community. We have neighbors that are full time residents.
The pool and spa are seasonal- open only for the summer. The spa is open year around, weather and elements permitting.
Because of heightened fire danger, there are no open fires allowed outside. The grill provided is propane.
Since the Creek Fire, there has been an influx in wildlife in the area. Make sure you do not leave food outside or in your car, and clean the BBQ after use. Be aware of your surroundings during walks.
Pitch and sap will accumulate on your shoes after walking around outside, please remove your shoes indoors.

    The condo was very clean and the bed was nice. However, their bath towels were not. They are supposed to be white bath towels, but a lot of them are stained and this orange tinge to them they clearly have never been bleached. They truly need to be thrown away. Very nicely decorated. I would definitely stay here again they just need new towels.

    Really enjoyed our time at this property. The decor was nice and the beds were comfy. It was a bit of a walk from the street up to the front door and it was not cleared as we came after a snowfall but other than that we really enjoyed our time here.

    Pros: house was clean and bright. Very comfortable. I would 100%recommend again. It was nice to have washer and dryer in the unit. Cons: check in was at 4pm. House was freezing upon arrival and took 2.5 hours to finally get to where we could take our jackets off. Bring pool/Hottub towels. Only enough towels for showering. There were not very many blankets available.
