I was mostly impressed at how cool the place stayed despite the brutal heat the weekend we were there (keeping the shades down during the day). Certainly air conditioning would have been nice but it wasn’t critical here. Finding the unit was tough because gps didn’t take us up the hill enough, but once we got there, the views are beautiful. We enjoyed the sunset over the mountains each night. Unfortunately due to it being sponge moth caterpillar season, we did so indoors rather than out. But the backyard otherwise looked lovely.
Property has GORGEOUS views and is literally a mile from StoryLand, all of which was a huge selling point for us. However, bunk bed was dangerous and wobbly, and we had a few other mishaps with the condo during our stay. Property manager was wonderfully responsive and courteous, which made us feel better about the overall experience.
A wonderful time had in a beautiful setting on top christmas mountain. Accommodations were excellent and clean
This is my second time staying here for a family vacation this is a perfect spot for a family with young kids to stay the aquarium down the street pizza shop at the end of the road great views from the bay window huge living room for the kids to play in a hill for them to go sledding on and indoor pool I mean come on what else do you need . Oh yeah and it’s close to basically everything you want to do ski, snowmobile ,shop , nothing . you can literally do nothing but lounge around and play board games . This place is perfect and the price is right on
Our stay was fantastic. We had plenty of room for our family and were able to make full dinners in their well maintained kitchen. The bedrooms are large and comfortable. We would absolutely use this property again.
The property is at a great location but very difficult to find, especially in the dark. We had to stop at the fitness area and ask for directions on how to find our place. Street signs are small and the numbers to our building did not stand out well at all at night. When we arrived there was no light to our condo and the light outside our door wasn’t working. We used the flashlight on our phone and groped around to find our way in. The place was spacious and clean, kitchen was well stocked and the setting is beautiful. We called the person in charge, who was very responsive and friendly, to tell her about the light, but unfortunately it was not fixed during our stay. Two days before we left there were bulldozers and chainsaws right outside our bedroom windows and door at 7 am. They were there for two days putting in a new sidewalk. There was no heads up that this would be happening on our short peaceful mountain getaway. We spoke with the owner who claimed she was not aware that this was happening and was not something she had control over. We did send pictures and a complaint to Evolve, who were generous enough to to refund part of our stay. Given the unfortunate circumstances on our four day visit we will not opt to return.
We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.
This property and LOCATION was the perfect place for my family and I to use as a resting place on our busy weekend. This unit is on the lower floor of a 4-unit apartment; the unit was spacious and clean, carpet/floors were clean, and linens/beds were also in good condition. It was simply but nicely decorated, and had all the basic comforts and amenities needed. I brought my own coffee and filters, but there is a basic coffeemaker there, toaster, microwave, and the usual necessities were mostly supplied. The view from the back window/back yard was very nice in both AM and PM, with sunsets happening right over the mountain, and right now the Fall foliage is beautiful! Storyland was not even 5 minutes away for the kids, and the Auto Drive to Mount Washington, Wild Cat Mountain with Gondola rides, and Ellis Falls short hike is all within 30 minutes away. We also had a really nice dinner at the Thompson House Eatery on our first night (fine dining), but if looking for a more quick and casual night in, Kringles pizza place is right at the bottom of the hill that also has basic things for sale for travel, as well as beer/wine, and they even do a call-ahead decent breakfast that you can bring back to the place. All in all, lovely place to stay with much to offer in the area.
This condo was perfectly located!!! The amenities were great!!! However, we walked into spider webs all over the condo and it had an awful smell that was covered up with a million plug ins!!! I spent the 1st hour cleaning and getting the spider webs out of the spaces for us to walk. The sliding glass door was very hard to open and the screen was broken so we had to use the other door to go outside.!!! Also who ever was renting upstairs allowed their children to run back and forth all day and all night (we understand the owner has no control over this but beware if you have noisy upstairs neighbors you’ll hear them!!!) The kitchen did not have everything you’d need!!! This condo definitely needs some fixing, updating, better lighting and better upkeep for the price!!! I gave it a 4 stars because we loved the location and amenities but it definitely was not very well kept!!!
The property is in mediocre condition for the price being charged. There is unrepaired damage since the listing photos were taken: missing panels in the cabinets at both the kitchen and bathroom sinks, a broken overhead light fixture in the kitchen, and damaged outdoor electrical box on the patio. The damage is surprising, given that renters are required to pay a non-refundable damage protection fee in lieu of a security deposit. The owner should have had funds available for repairs. It was also a little surprising that there was an envelope for a cleaning gratuity, on top of the pre-paid cleaning fee and linen fee. There were a couple of items which the owner probably can’t do much about, but renters should be aware of. The roof is pitched such that snow melting from the roof collects and then refreezes along the walkway from the parking area to the door. The path was quite treacherous in February. It’s also understandable that snow piles from the plows cut into the available parking area, but the result is that the parking spots are first-come, first-served for the 4 units which share the one parking area. There were times that we had to use the overflow parking area up the road, even with only one car. Pay close attention to the “no refund” policy in case of cancelation. That apparently means for any reason whatsoever and with any amount of advance notice (even 5+ months). The vacation rental management company will offer to sell you travel insurance for an additional fee, but even that only covers cancelations for a specific set of reasons such as illness or injury. In summary, the location is quite nice; you’re right in the White Mountains, with easy access to skiing and the towns of Jackson, Bartlett and North Conway. However, for the condition of this particular property, the price is just too high.
